I'm just wondering if anyone has any thought about an idea I've had. I've tried signing up as an NHS telephone volunteer for people who are struggling, but they don't need any more volunteers in my area. I'd like to do something to help people who are likely to be struggling with the disruptions that are likely coming.

I'm an experienced ex-primary teacher, can't afford to do supply because the pay is crap but what I could do is take an hour a few times a week to do some live-streamed teaching over Facebook or YouTube. I was imagining I could cover maths/English and people can ask questions in the comment section if they're stuck on something. Perhaps it would be helpful for children who are falling behind or having to self isolate.

I could really only do one year group because I can't really afford to do that much work for free. Is this a good idea or am I being daft? I just feel so sorry for children who have missed out on so much input and teaching is the only useful skill I have 😆
