Omicron and LFTs

Anyone with any experience of omicron being picked up by LFTs?

There's been a mass breakout at my workplace, 18 out of the 20 people who went to the Christmas party are now all confirmed positive on PCR. Only 1 or 2 of them ever showed up positive on lateral flows.

I wasn't at the party but have been with them all since (whilst they were symptomatic but negative on LFTs). Just wondering if omicron shows up on LFTs as delta did?

DD was ill for several days before she got a positive LFT. No idea if it is omnicrom.

Everyone I know who has tested positive lately (and it’s a lot!) have done so first on lateral flow, confirmed pcr. We are in London to I am assuming most of those are the new variant yes

The UKHSA issued a technical report last week on this, and LFT are good against omicron.

My LFT was negative, but still had to get a PCR, which was positive.

I heard a news report earlier today say that lateral flow negative results expire very quickly with omicron. It’s to do with how quickly the infection takes hold and you becoming infectious.

Daughter, doubly jabbed, did three tests, first two using older version of LFT - both negative. Used new version - Flowflex - and positive result. Doesn’t have typical original symptoms: cough, temperature, loss of taste and smell. Presenting as if a cold - runny nose, sore throat.

Dd went away and 10 out of 15 tested positive shortly after. She began to feel unwell with symptoms but kept testing negative on lft and on her first pcr. She tested positive on her second one after nearly a week of becoming unwell. I lost count of how many lft she did but they all said negative. The only good thing was she had the sense to treat herself as a positive case given the other 10 tested positive so she didn't go out and isolated.

DD has been doing lateral flow tests daily. Tutors and students informally switched to on line teaching as they were dropping like flies, and DD came home a couple of days early. It was therefore likely she had caught it and she wanted to know as soon as she became infectious.

All the lateral flow tests were negative but though she was asymptomatic, she got a PSR test yesterday. Positive. Self isolate till 27th. Now to see if our lateral flows come up positive.

I have omicron as does DD. Picked up on old style LFT on first symptomatic day for me and for DD.
