@NannaMcPhoo

Three text messages in two days last week from my doctors about the booster. Seemingly no way of opting out of further text messages.
First world problems eh?
BirdyBirdyTweetTweet · 19/12/2021 12:34

No

PAFMO · 19/12/2021 12:36
@wincarwoo The number of people who have CHOSEN not to have the vaccine is not 25%.

Depending on where you look for your statistics, the unvaccinated figure of a population can also include sections of the population who are not eligible to be vaccinated, such as under 12s.

Unvaccinated can now also include people who have had two but not three doses, again, depending on where you're looking for your statistics.

Outside of this, there will be many people who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons. People who have autoimmune conditions, people who have severe allergies to vaccine ingredients, etc.

Throwing around uncontextualised statistics to try and blame this latest situation on the very small number of adults who have chosen not to get vaccinated is disingenuous.
I think your agenda is starting to show
There is a tiny tiny number of people who cannot be vaccinated. Tiny.
The "statistics" are best looked at from the official sources, and nobody should be choosing where to get them from.
It's also true that the non vaccinated in some areas is much higher than 25%.

thefamous5 · 19/12/2021 12:36

Nope. Had my third yesterday (third Pfizer), I'll have as many as necessary

NannaMcPhoo · 19/12/2021 12:36

All of those things happen to millions of people every day

@MrsSkylerWhite

Millions of people develop Costochondritis every day? Any evidence to back this up?

Pumpkin5piced · 19/12/2021 12:37

@wincarwoo not sure what your problem is. I never said anybody was expecting it. I just don’t feel like, I personally need 3 vaccinations in 8 months to protect me from covid. If you do that’s completely your choice.

On what do you base that? Are you one of these "don't trust the experts" people?

Pumpkin5piced · 19/12/2021 12:40

@NdujaWannaDance The booster wouldn’t have made the slightest difference to the situation you described though.

SoTiredoftheStress · 19/12/2021 12:41

iv had first 2 vacs and it messed up my cycle. we've been TTC for 14 months now so im holding off as i dont want anything else to affect it.

Pumpkin5piced · 19/12/2021 12:41

@wincarwoo I’m not basing it on anything. It’s just my personal preference. I don’t want another vaccine, I’m not worried about catching covid.

How privileged

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 19/12/2021 12:42

No. Got it this morning.

Pumpkin5piced · 19/12/2021 12:43

In what way? Are you sneering at me and calling me privileged because I deem myself fit and healthy? Or because we as a nation are privileged to have the option?

Do you not worry about the numbers of unvaccinated pregnant women in hospital due to covid?

Because you have the option. I am also fit and healthy. I want to do my utmost to stop the spread, stop the illness and stop the deaths so the impact to the NHS and the economy is lessened.
SoTiredoftheStress · 19/12/2021 13:09

uhm, how is that relevant to why im holding off on my booster?

im holding off until i get pregnant as the last vacs messed with my cycle. i never said anything about not getting the booster when actually pregnant

SoTiredoftheStress · 19/12/2021 13:09

sorry quote never worked. response is to @Spooky

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/12/2021 13:12

Very much with you, OP
I've had the first two, but will get the booster (and whatever others follow) only when there's been enough time to produce clear data on how effective the booster is, and what consequences there may be from multiple vaccinations which are licenced only for an emergency

EnidSpyton · 19/12/2021 13:14

@PAFMO

It absolutely is NOT misinformation to say vaccines do not stop you from catching or passing on covid.

We have been told repeatedly by WHO and other medical bodies that this is the case.

This is why other mitigations are still necessary.

Why else would a population of largely vaccinated people still be recording tens of thousands of covid cases every day?

I don't understand how people don't understand this. VACCINES DO NOT STOP YOU FROM CATCHING OR SPREADING THE VIRUS.

This is statistically, scientifically proven. It is not misinformation. It is fact.

It REDUCES infection and spread. It is does not STOP it. This is a crucial difference.

Your final sentence was unfortunately missing from your previous posts. Glad to see it's there now. As I'm glad to hear you came round to having the vaccine after being very vociferous earlier in the year that Covid wouldn't bother you so you wouldn't be having the vaccine.

I'm not suggesting anything at all. I'm genuinely interested as the vaccine in pregnant women has been a big news item recently and I was asking your opinion. Not challenging you at all.
soredust · 19/12/2021 15:03

@EmmaOvary

No, of course not. Jesus. Get the bloody thing so we can all get out of this as soon as possible.
Do people still believe this crap!? Confused
cook4Meals · 19/12/2021 15:07

@soredust ....sadly, the majority of MN still do

Have you lived through a pandemic in a parallel universe?

HeronLanyon · 19/12/2021 15:11

Absolutely not. I had my booster as soon as it was available to me.
