No, I had mine yesterday.

Got moderna and other than a pretty sore arm, i'm absolutely fine. Vaccine centre was busy but run like a machine and I was in bang on time and out within ten minutes.

k4523 · 19/12/2021 09:03

No
had mine already

OliveTree75 · 19/12/2021 09:05

I've had the booster but I'm not having anymore

gannett · 19/12/2021 09:07
@Busybee5000 Most people I know local to me have been given Moderna as a booster and have had a strong reaction to it.
I got the Moderna booster and haven't felt a single side effect other than a sore arm. I went for a 15km run the next day.

Also no side effects from the double Pfizer vaccine to start with.

Don't know anyone who's been affected more than being laid low for 24 hours.

waterlego · 19/12/2021 09:12

I’ve just had mine and it’s made me feel shite (unlike my first two jabs). I’m not sure I want to have any more after this one.

LunaAndHerMoonDragons · 19/12/2021 09:15

@BunsyGirl

Yes, because I was really ill after my first AZ dose and my GP ended up sending me to A & E. It took me 9-10 weeks to recover. I have had Covid twice, in both cases I wasn’t ill for the same length of time as I was when I had my first AZ. I was ok after my second AZ but I’m worried about bringing a different vaccine into the mix.
I'm worried for similar reason. I had Pfizer, the first was bad, the second a lot worse. Took over 2 months for the bouts of muscle weakness and stabbings pain to stop.

Yes, same for DH. I’m not having mine over the holiday - might consider in January.
EddieVeddersfoxymop · 19/12/2021 09:23

Yes, I'm not too happy about it. I will do it and indeed have an appt booked between christmas and New year but I'm not overjoyed.

For context, I'm suffering with God awful anxiety, have been for years. I wasn't going to get the vaccine initially as I was too nervous about it. I did eventually though.

I'm not keen on contant boosters, and also given that each time so far I've needed time off work I'm concerned about attendance at work. I seem to react badly to each vaccine.

I wonder where this will stop and also what evidence there is that boosters in quick succession and mixing of vaccines is safe to do.

It all feels very rushed. I'm not anti vax in any way but I'm not loving the forcing/rushing/mixing that seems to be happening. I don't think there's anything wrong with questioning the process and considering carefully what goes into my body.

Ghostsintheshelf · 19/12/2021 09:24

1st Pfizer - tired, bit of a tummy upset for a few days.

2nd Pfizer - sore arm but fine apart from that.

3rd Moderna - have felt really crap for 2 days now. I had no hesitation about getting the booster but don't particularly want to keep having to feel like this every few months.

Tallulahss · 19/12/2021 09:26

Yes I have heard of omricon!!!!
And I'm not saying don't get it I'm just a bit apprehensive. Symptoms of omricon sore throat, sniffles etc umm so basically a cold.
And how many more variants, how many more jabs?!! How long b4 we are popping off for a monthly jab just because buffoon boris tells us we must.

I had it yesterday , but I have questioned it given that will be 3 vaccines in under a year - which in my mind means it's not much of a vaccine. Seems like Omicron is little more than a bad cold for most people which also makes me wary . I won't be taking anymore unless there's a significant time gap.

Nope, got mine yesterday as did dh
fizzybootlace · 19/12/2021 09:38

Yes, I know how you feel. I reacted really badly to my first AZ jab so was reluctant for the second but it wasn't as bad but my periods were messed up and I had headaches so was really reluctant to have the booster if it was AZ again. Because it was Pfizer I had the booster in early November but the side effects were minimal so I'm pleased I had it. I have had muscle pain since having the booster which has started to ease this week so trying not to think about a 4th jab and what delights it will being!

Funny thing is I usually have a bit of a reaction to the flu jab but this year nothing! I do have concerns about the changes to our bodies, particularly women, but I don't want to take the chance being unvaccinated. I was hospitalised with flu years ago so am grateful for the vaccines as can't imagine being in hospital now, must be horrendous!!

Aposterhasnoname · 19/12/2021 09:39

Got mine a fortnight ago because I’m not an idiot. HTH

Digbyscolleague · 19/12/2021 09:40

I had AZ for my first two vaccines and really didn’t feel well after them (was in bed etc). Had Covid after that and was really quite poorly. Had my booster yesterday and was dreading it. Had Moderna and I feel a bit like I have a cold today, slight headache, and my arm is sore but I’m fine. I’m glad I had it and if it’ll keep my elderly parents a bit safer when I go to see them then it is totally worth it.

Not one person I've talked to has had any reaction to Moderna. Both my DH and I, my sister, mother and work colleagues have had Moderna booster and none of us had a "strong" reaction. DH and I had ours last Sunday and a slightly tender arm was the most we felt.

TeeBee · 19/12/2021 09:43

Nope, not bothered in the slightest. Give me everything you've got. Don't want to be ill thanks.

JaceLancs · 19/12/2021 09:43

Yes - I’m waiting
I had a bad reaction to both previously and needed time off work
I can’t risk that at this time of year when I’m covering for others as we are low staffed
I will reconsider in January if I have a few days when I could be off if I needed to
I’ve had Covid and was less ill than my reaction to the vaccine

hipbippbop · 19/12/2021 09:45

No.

I'm a critical care nurse. 90% on my unit unvaccinated. 10% haven't had their booster.

Frauhubert · 19/12/2021 09:45

I did get mine but i thought that all the motherfuckers who hasn’t had any vaccines should be taking their first.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 19/12/2021 09:46

Nope! Had mine Friday, should have been earlier but I had to wait 28 days post covid.

I've now had 3 jabs and one case of mild covid. I feel protected and safe.

RobinPenguins · 19/12/2021 09:47

Nah, the situation has changed so what was said before doesn’t apply anymore.

Had mine last week, it was half an hour out of my day. Not a big deal.

BigButtons · 19/12/2021 09:47

I had Moderna yesterday after 2xAZ. Very bad reaction to both AZ.
My arm hurt so much I could not move it to get undressed for bed last night. It was far far worse than the AZ arms.
I was achey all over last night but not as bad as I was expecting overall.

SaltedCaramelHC · 19/12/2021 09:53

No one really knows how many more variants or boosters, but it's unlikely to continue like this. They are working on ones that will protect against more mutations generally, as well as on treatments that will help for variants generally. Having had boosters will also provide some protection against future ones as well; so there should be less waning of protection as we have more, and have general underlying immunity.

Having a third so urgently is needed now, but it doesn't mean that they will be needed forever. Yes, it's possible that future boosters will be needed, especially for the vulnerable, but it doesn't mean that it's pointless having it now for everyone.

Also, some people not having it now because they're worried about them becoming regular won't help - in fact, it could possibly even make it more likely. But it certainly won't reduce the chances of future boosters being needed.

Boris is hardly going to want people to have boosters forever if he possibly can help it - it costs a fortune and messes up other health care hugely. It's not just a whim.

Hibiscusroses · 19/12/2021 09:55

Get the booster. I had it a few weeks ago. Currently have covid, but it's like a very heavy cold. I'm attributing this to the fact that I've had all my jabs and boosters. Thank god we live in a country where this is available to us.
