Just wondering if anyone knows how soon you're infectious after being exposed to covid, let's assume omicron. I've read you can be infectious 48 hours before symptoms. And with omicron you can have symptoms within 3 days. So does this mean you're infectious within 24 hours of exposure? Or sooner?

I was just told by my hospital consultant currently on ICU that exposure to infection is as little as 24-48 hours at the moment.

Ok thanks, that's kind of what I thought given how fast everyone is getting infected

My DS2 has just tested positive on LFT, now going for PCR but he was only out with a friend on Friday, so it's highly infectious
Sadly he'll be alone for Christmas
