No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

OP posts:
Swifey40 · 19/12/2021 10:50

Absolutely YES!!! And you lot are all idiots who have said no! I have three friends, Mt age, early 40's all double vaccinated and 1 triple, fit and healthy, and one was in hospital for over two weeks on a ventilator, whilst the other two have had terrible side effects and can't look after their dependants. Just have a think about what I that were you??????

luckylavender · 19/12/2021 10:51

@bumbleymummy - have you tried to actually book a slot? It may be allowed but it's far from easy.

mugglenutmeg · 19/12/2021 10:52

Yes (I don't agree but I would reluctantly comply)

BonneMaman15 · 19/12/2021 10:53

Yes

@Rainbowdrops2021

We can’t save the nhs by simply staying at home. The gov needs to stop wasting money on things like track and trace and start paying a decent wage to nurses so that people actually want to work for the nhs and invest in beds, equipment and ambulances. The lockdowns, vaccines ect just aren’t working!
exactly this , the nhs needs reforming , more of the above and less managers , maybe emulate the gernan or french healthcare system , but its the uks sacred cow though , and many people would be up in arms that they might have to actually pay more for their healthcare even if it meant they actually got treated , just watch all this money johnsons about to throw at it via raised national insurance will be money into a black hole and it will still be on its knees , which is why im sick to the back teeth of hearing we have to try to bloody save it and stop it being overwhelmed

No

RichTeaRichTea · 19/12/2021 10:55

It is a case of “pick your chaos”. There is an enormous knock-on effect on many restrictions associated with lockdowns - and the govt does have a choice about which ones to implement. Posters may be of the view that everyone staying in their own homes for a period of time is worth it, but know that you are just choosing a different kind of chaos, prioritising one need over another, and there is an impact of that too. You may be right, I don’t know.

userperuser · 19/12/2021 10:56

A lot of comments from the ‘yes’ votes have insults aimed at the ‘no’ voters included.

If you're unable to understand that there's currently no option available to us that doesn't involve significant harm, it's actually a compliment to be called stupid by you.
Lilifer · 19/12/2021 10:59

No way

Delatron · 19/12/2021 10:59

Yes quite @VikingOnTheFridge

The short-sightedness on this thread is staggering. You think if we all stay in our houses for two weeks this will go away?!

The vulnerable had boosters in Aug/Sept. they’ll be waning soon. Do you want to push this inevitable wave out to Feb/March?

LittleBabyCheeses · 19/12/2021 11:01

I complied with lockdown 1 to ‘save the NHS’. I complied with lockdown 2 to ‘save the NHS’. In the meantime, the government (whose responsibility it is to ensure that we have a functioning NHS) have done absolutely nothing to ‘save the NHS’. Us staying at home every time the NHS comes under pressure just lets the government off the hook… it means they don’t have to actually do anything to ensure we have a functioning NHS that is fit for purpose. Some people may be willing to do this indefinitely, that’s up to them.

Lesserspottedmama · 19/12/2021 11:01

No, not with any of it.

Chloemol · 19/12/2021 11:02

Yes, I want this to end, not carry in forever because people won’t adhere and can’t see the bigger picture

No

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 11:04

@zafferana because the majority of unvaccinated people are young and low risk anyway. And you’re not even taking into consideration that an unvaccinated person may have been infected and therefore also be less likely to end up in hospital.

It’s not going to end. The genie’s out of the bottle. Spanish Flu is still with us after 103 years, ffs.

It won’t. It will come back. Just in Feb instead.

Shush, if we all close our eyes and wish and close the pubs again everything will magically be fine. You literally kill people when you don't have faith.
ShinyHappyPoster · 19/12/2021 11:06

@Emmelina

Yes. Not because Boris says so, but because the NHS is on its ass with high admissions and staff off sick or having to isolate My sister is a nurse and frequently pulls double shifts (and they’re long shifts as it is!) or goes in at short notice because there’s basically nobody else. Admissions need to slow down.
Yy exactly this. I have no time for Boris. I've never looked to him as a moral example of how to live my life so I don't care whether he has parties, puts people at risk or acts selfishly. That's Boris' approach to everything from marriage to fatherhood to running the country. It would be bloody stupid to think Boris has acted like a selfish irresponsible arse, so it's ok for me to do that too. He exemplifies everything that is wrong with this country and the sooner the Tories realise that, and vote him out, the better. Because it seems it will be a cold, day in hell before Starmer starts acting like an opposition leader and manages to oust him.
DurhamDurham · 19/12/2021 11:07

After previous restrictions, lockdowns and three vaccines we were lead to believe that was the way forward to allow us to get back to 'normal'

How long can they keep doing this? What's the point of the vaccine roll out of its still too unsafe to set foot outside the front door?
