No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

OP posts:
CyclesPerfecta · 19/12/2021 10:30

No

CaMePlaitPas · 19/12/2021 10:30

I don't want to, and my initial reaction was NO.

But I can't stop thinking about the doctors and nurses who are literally on their knees. We need them to look after the sick; they install the breathing tubes and adminster oxygen to people, if admissions go into overdrive and the medical staff are too tired/stressed/broken to go to work who replaces them? 147,000 people have already died, what will be next year's toll?

So for that reason I would reluctantly comply.

Malteser71 · 19/12/2021 10:32

I think for a lot of people, it ‘depends’ how much hyperbole can be drummed up in the media

Roundeartheratchriatmas · 19/12/2021 10:32

You lot are insane!! You wouldn't comply?! You do realise the consequences for our children when you make that warped decision. More years of interrupted education and vulnerable children unsafe amd under the radar. You will have blood on your hands.

Why are your children more important that my mental health ? My mothers ?

🤣🤣 "blood on your hands"

Classic 😆

NotSonicTheHedgehog · 19/12/2021 10:36

I can compile (v reluctantly) with everything but I don’t want to not see my parents again. I’ve been recently diagnosed with a pretty serious mental health issue. Household mixing was allowed for emergency assistance last time so…

LadyCatStark · 19/12/2021 10:36

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 10:40

@zafferana Yes, I think every single one of those countries is wrong in those policies. And those high handed regulations haven’t actually prevented the surges in cases and many of those countries are now having to impose restrictions/lockdowns anyway. How anyone can look at that and still support them and think they are acceptable is beyond me.

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 10:41

@vera99

I had enough of the wilfully unvaxxed. They should fucking comply.
You’ll need to add double vaxxed to your hate list now, according to imperial college London.

Complying doesn't prevent that. In many ways, the more people comply the more this becomes normalised.

Are people still under the illusion that if we do what the government tell us Covid's going to go away?

3g4g5g · 19/12/2021 10:42

Yes

DeclineandFall · 19/12/2021 10:43

yes

slaybell · 19/12/2021 10:43

No

Disfordarkchocolate · 19/12/2021 10:45

Yes.

Mam died from Covid.

Dad nearly died from Covid, still ill a year later.

I don't want anyone else to be able to type this.

onanotherday · 19/12/2021 10:45

Yes....why would you not? The sooner done the sooner we are in a better place. The NHS is beyond on it's knees. Of course I'm fed up..but the virus doesn't care.

RichTeaRichTea · 19/12/2021 10:46

@curlymom

Yes of course. I’m a teacher. We will carry on so children get an education. To the ignorants who say no, once the school staff is at a low, which it will be if you refuse to comply no doubt, you will have your kids at home and that will give you something to complain about.
My husband is a teacher. The lack of support for my PND was much more stressful for him than the prospect of covid, given the balance of risks to our family.

You’re kidding right? ‘3 weeks to flatten the curve’? Hmm
zafferana · 19/12/2021 10:47

Exactly @TheKeatingFive. Most of us saying 'No' this time around have, I'm guessing, complied with past lockdowns, but to what end?

Not to forget that last summer we unlocked because we'd broken the connection between infections AND THAT IS STILL THE CASE. There are fewer people in ICU with Covid now than there were a month ago. There are fewer deaths happening each day now with Covid than there were at the start of Nov!!!

zafferana · 19/12/2021 10:47

I actually can't quite tell whether that poster is serious or not. Sometimes it's a difficult call.
Blossomtoes · 19/12/2021 10:49

Absolutely not. I’m done.

Yuledo · 19/12/2021 10:49

Yes because I want this all over and I want a functioning infrastructure, but frustrated that many of us will do our bit, but then it will still all go to shit because of the people who won’t.

Because vaccines prevent serious illness and death. How can you not understand that? If you are vaccinated, you are not only less likely to get seriously ill and die, but you are also 'saving the NHS' by being much less likely to burden it with your Covid-sick self. It's not rocket science.
