No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

What do the ‘No’ sayers think should be done? Do you think we should let bodies pile up outside A&E?

luckylavender · 19/12/2021 09:36

@LittleRoundRobin - we have hardly any restrictions in place. Social distancing doesn't exist. Masks are hardly a restriction (unless you're genuinely exempt) - try talking to SE Asians & watch them laugh. And as for calling the vaccine 'experimental' - seriously give your head a wobble. You think any of us like this? Look around the works and see what others are doing.

MapleMay11 · 19/12/2021 09:37

Yes

Iceskatequeen · 19/12/2021 09:37

Stroppy idiots, selfish.

While we are being emotive let's remember that Arthur Labinjo Hughes grandparents tried to gain access to him and were stopped because of Covid rules.

Wider use of vaccine passports is one option, and very elderly people who're seriously ill shouldn't be on ventilators.
herecomesthsun · 19/12/2021 09:38

yes

MultiSkills · 19/12/2021 09:40
@MultiSkills iirc these increased cases have been confirmed as incidental - ie children being admitted for other things and testing positive. I don’t think it’s helpful to try to scare people with misleading information.
No, this is in the uk and my friend works in paeds A&E in a big city hospital. I talked to her about this the other day and she said they have more children coming in with covid problems - they are seeing blood pressure and abdominal issues this time rather than breathing problems.

LadyDanburysCane · 19/12/2021 09:42

YES

Metalhead · 19/12/2021 09:43

No. Our household is literally just coming out of quarantine having all had Covid, my in laws are triple jabbed and testing regularly, so we will still go and see them.

whynotwhatknot · 19/12/2021 09:43

no i wont stop seeing my family

luckylavender · 19/12/2021 09:43

@LittleRoundRobin - I won't be going anywhere near your 'fat arse' either thank you for the underwhelming offer.

Not to mention the increased difficulty of coping with severely SN relatives or domestic violence. Meanwhile, at the height of it all, those doling out the rules (that mostly made sense at the time) were visiting castles miles from home, shagging secretaries and having parties while we couldn't comfort our own relatives at funerals.
WowIlikereallyhateyou · 19/12/2021 09:44

Yes, because I consider others and their vulnerability to Covid.

LittleBabyCheeses · 19/12/2021 09:44

I will have to comply with closures of course. But no, I will never stop my children from seeing their friends and family again (obviously only the ones who want to see them too, I’m not going to kidnap them and force them to spend time in our company).
In the last lockdown my children cried every day because the majority of their classmates were in school together and it was illegal for them to even see a friend outside.

SirVixofVixHall · 19/12/2021 09:44

Yes.

toomuchlaundry · 19/12/2021 09:44

@paranoidnamechanger I doubt very much elderly people who are very ill will be on ventilators

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 19/12/2021 09:44

Yes of course.

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2021 09:44

@MultiSkills iirc an icu nurse got in big trouble last year for falsely reporting something similar about her ward being ‘filled with children/young people’. Excuse me if I wait for official data that confirms that, rather than taking the word of someone on MN telling us what her friend said. Data from SA and Denmark shows that children are still at very low risk of hospitalisation, lower than the delta wave.

playmelikeasymphony · 19/12/2021 09:45

Yes. I’m already isolating to keep myself safe.

Roundeartheratchriatmas · 19/12/2021 09:46

I’d suggest some restrictions certainly. Outdoor dining, LFTs not covid passports (we know vaccinated people can still spread it now) for entry indoor things like cinemas, pubs and bars.

What I’d have ideally wanted was for us to invest more in our hospitals and recruit more staff but that didn’t happen.

HailAdrian · 19/12/2021 09:48

Nah

Coldlight · 19/12/2021 09:48

Oh stop. You really think that bodies are going to be piling up when we’ve triple vaccinated the vast majority of the most vulnerable groups? What on Earth do you think the point of vaccinating so many people over the last year has been if we still need lockdowns (which don’t work) to ‘save the NHS’.
Rainbowdrops2021 · 19/12/2021 09:48

No

Hairyfairy01 · 19/12/2021 09:48

Yes- because I value the NHS
