No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.

For me it's a hard NO.

I won’t keep my DDs from their boyfriends/ best friends, but apart from the first 3 months last year, never did anyway.

Egghead68 · 19/12/2021 06:33

Yes

TheVampiresWife · 19/12/2021 06:33

We don't have any friends or family so mixing indoors isn't an issue for us, but if we had them we would. DD is a teacher and will be mixing with hundreds of contacts a day so the idea of not being allowed a (theoretical) friend/relative in the house is bizarre. Also I've read they will be bringing back shielding (no link, it was in one of the very many articles I've seen today) - telling people to shield while also having family members who have to go out to work, or shielders have to go out to work themselves, is nuts.

Get rid of lockdowns, give CEV proper financial and practical support to stay at home (along with household members) if they wish to. Cheaper than lockdowns and with the same effect, ie keeping the vulnerable out of hospital.

@Houseofvelour

To all saying they're law abiding, does it bother you that the people setting these rules are also breaking them? If the government followed the directions they gave, I might actually listen but if even they can't, what's the point?
Of course it bloody does. If the law makers aren't going to follow their own rules, then they have to expect the citizens of the country to follow their lead (or some of them at least).

I'm also a solicitor, so an officer of the Court, and do feel that I should follow the law of the land, even if the government isn't. If I wasn't a solicitor, I'd likely be less compliant going forward.

Willowpuss · 19/12/2021 06:35

No

TheVampiresWife · 19/12/2021 06:36

@JemimaPiddleDick

Yes, and you’re an entitled shit if you answer no
Or perhaps you're someone who attempted suicide in previous lockdowns and are terrified of going to that dark place again.

What a nasty comment.

Dollywilde · 19/12/2021 06:37

No. I don’t have much of a social life as it is (toddler and pregnant) so wouldn’t be missing pubs/restaurants/cinemas, but I would continue to mix indoors with my parents and sister and any friends who get comfortable doing so.

myyellowcar · 19/12/2021 06:38

No

FourTeaFallOut · 19/12/2021 06:38

blessedbethechocolate · 19/12/2021 06:47

No

fedup078 · 19/12/2021 06:53

Depends what they are but I'm leaning towards no
In fact I was thinking the other day how I can't believe I made my dad stand on the doorstep in the cold last time
Won't do that again for example

Scunnered77 · 19/12/2021 06:54

No

Unescorted · 19/12/2021 06:55

Yes.

Ball ache inconvenience to me does not out weigh protecting the health of others. Much as I hate it & today will most likely be the last day I will see my dad alive. I do not want to be responsible for someone else losing a family member or another living with a long term disability.

I guess the same reasons why I test regularly, shop as infrequently as possible, wear a mask when out & have only met up with friends outside. You may think I am over cautious but I want to know I did everything I personally could to avoid hurting another person.

transformandriseup · 19/12/2021 06:56

My close family will see each indoors for our mental health in the case of a lockdown. We are happy to keep distance/open windows.

GoodPrincessWenceslas · 19/12/2021 07:03

Yes. Silly not to, really, and with a lot of venues closed we won't have much choice.

FutureHope · 19/12/2021 07:04

Too much damage to the kids and my own mental health.
