Positive LFT next day

We both did an LFT and they looked negative.
Went to bed and left them out on the side all night. Went this morning to put them in the bin and realised one had a second line…what’s the best thing to do in this situation?

Honestly? I'd bin them both and say no more about it. But I'm self employed.

To re-test surely? The guidance is to only count the result during the specified time but I would still do another one.

You need read them at 30min after that unreliable. Did you time them last night?

nothing, they're only valid for 30 mins, after that you get evap lines. If they were negative at the 15 minute point, they're negative.

The new orientgene ones seem to do this. We had a panic over this and did a whole load more LF and PCRs as a result.
The test looks negative at 15 mins, negative a couple of hours later, then a line appears overnight if left out. I assume it's evaporation as it doesn't happen with other tests (we have 4 different types in the house and tested them all).

However, that said I would not assume anything and do an LF and a PCR to be sure.

I had this, got a neg, left the test out and when I came back (over 30 mins) it was positive, I tested again the next day and it was a definite positive.

Retest. I tested at midnight and thought it was negative, then noticed a faint line on it the next morning. I re-tested thinking it was just a false line from being read after the 30 mins, and got a bright BRIGHT red positive.

I had this. I took another LFT, which was negative, booked a PCR and isolated (under my head teacher’s instructions) until my negative result came a few days later.

How did this go @Cutoutheart ?
I had this yesterday
It was an orient gene test and heard this happening a lot. Quick glance after I did it-negative and didn't look at it again until a couple or so hours after- a faint line was there but ever so faint.
Todays lateral flow with a different brand was total negative so just going to take that as a negative!
