Booster 'type'

Hello
Does anyone know - do you have to have the same booster type as your original 2 vaccines?

Eg if you had pfizer, does your booster have to be Pfizer as well?
It's not mentioned when booking

Also is there a way of finding out what type the booster is before you get there? I could just call up obviously just not sure how important it is

No, booster can be anything

Your booster should be any mRNA vaccine irrespective of your earlier shots.

If you cannot safely receive mRNA, then contact your GP to arrange AZ (which can still be used as a booster in some circs)

Boosters tend to be Pfizer or Moderna
You'd only get AZ if you couldn't have 1 of the other 2.

There's not much choice, as others have said. I had two Pfizer's, and I've just had a Pfizer booster as that was what was on offer at my surgery.

When my husband (who also had Pfizer first time) had his booster, they had both vaccines available but he was automatically sent to the Moderna queue. They told him they like to mix up the brand as it's shown to give a good immune response.

Pfizers not Pfizer's.

You can choose Pfizer or Moderna depending on what's being offered where you are, for example I got mine at a pharmacy offering Pfizer.

I had 2 Modernas with a Pfizer booster.
