Moderna Booster and Sore Arm

Justwingingit2005 · 17/12/2021 21:56

Has anyone else had Moderna booster and then got an arm that feels like someone has punched it. Had my jab 12 hrs ago, arm feels heavy and like it's been walloped.

Yes but the way she jabbed me it bloody hurt so I'm not surprised.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 17/12/2021 21:58

Yes! Me too, it's so painful. I was also really ill.

Elfonthesofa · 17/12/2021 21:59

Yup, had mine earlier this week and my arm is still sore

Sparklfairy · 17/12/2021 22:00

I had Pfizer at lunchtime today and feel the same!

whenwillthemadnessend · 17/12/2021 22:01

Yes terrible arm
Pain for a few days plus felt mildly fluey for two days

PurplePumpkinDream · 17/12/2021 22:02

Yes felt I’d been punched in the arm for a good few days, plus felt under the weather for the first 48 hours.

Justajot · 17/12/2021 22:02

I got mine on Tuesday. My arm was still quite painful yesterday, including my armpit (a bit weird). By I've just realised that I haven't noticed it at all today, so it's only been painful for a couple of days.

Much better for me than the 3 weeks of arm pain from my swine flu jab, that's my personal best.

Classica · 17/12/2021 22:02

Yes it's a common side-effect. Nothing to worry about.

ditalini · 17/12/2021 22:02

I had a Moderna booster about 5 hours ago and feel ok so far but had a really sore arm after both Pfizer vax which kicked in after about 12 hours.

steppemum · 17/12/2021 22:04

had moderna on Wed.
very sore arm, and chills, fever and nausea that evening.

I checked and all those are on the possible side effects list.
Then this morning I realised all the glands under my arm are swollen, again on the list.

But I was really poorly last week, and was in two minds about having the jab, so I suspect my body has reacted more than usual (no reaction to first 2 jabs)

LaBelleSausage · 17/12/2021 22:10

I had moderna at 10am.
Arm definitely doesn't feel great but not too bad unless I actually lift it.

Not looking forward to tomorrow as I can tell it's going to be worse then!

riveted1 · 17/12/2021 22:10

My arm really hurts but I'm not suprised because after he'd injected it, he said "oh good doesn't look like it's leaking", and then gave the site a firm squeeze! For what purpose I'm still not sure.

Glad I'm not someone who is nervous about the whole thing, but was definitely unimpressed Grin

Justwingingit2005 · 17/12/2021 22:13

My jabber was ranting about boris and getting herself wound up while jabbing me. Felt like a pin cushion!

Yep mine really hurt for a good 48 hours. And nausea that night too

WalkingOnSonshine · 17/12/2021 22:15

I had mine earlier and have felt chilly and exhausted all evening.

I’d got myself into bed with a hot water bottle & just fallen asleep at 8.45 when baby DS threw up (and has done again an hour later) so think we’re in for a night of it.

L0ndonGirl · 17/12/2021 22:55

Ditto all of the above - jab at 11am and now have aching arm and feel like I’ve got covid. The site of the jab properly bled a bit afterwards too - is that normal?

worriedatthemoment · 17/12/2021 22:55

Yes mine was painful and big red bump like how i react to insect bites
I had tues lunchtime and arm hurt tues night and weds but was a lot better by thurs just hurt if i touched it, now I still have bump but no real pain

worriedatthemoment · 17/12/2021 22:57

I also felt a little unwell like coming down with flu , achy etc but that lasted less than 24 hrs

ditalini · 18/12/2021 10:16

So 18 hours in, sore arm but only if I lie on it or touch it. No other side effects.

Fingers crossed it stays like that because I've got a LOT to do today.

Pushkinia · 18/12/2021 11:06

I had my Moderna booster yesterday. I didn’t feel the actual injection but my arm is really painful today and I feel a bit fluey. I hope it doesn’t last long.

piglet81 · 18/12/2021 11:10

I had moderna booster on Thursday morning. 48 hours later I still have a sore arm… felt a bit grotty yesterday (headachy/tired) but better today.

riveted1 · 18/12/2021 11:32

Coming back to the thread to say no other side effects (24 hours after jab), and achey arm is now just a niggle
