The wait for a booster

Apologies if this has been done. I'm late 30s and the earliest I could book a booster is 30th of December, which I know isn't much of a wait.
I'm quite anxious about covid though, I had my last vaccine in July, and this week I know so many people who have tested positive, although I wasn't a close contact. I feel anxious about doing anything over Christmas due to
covid. I know my risk is small due to my age but I still feel anxious . There's not been any local walk ins that I know of yet, I'm following afew Facebook pages in my local area. So anybody else got a bit of a wait for booster, are you being extra careful until your booster? Also I had covid afew months back (after my 2nd vaccine) and thankfully I wasn't too Ill, but I'm just concerned now that as I've not yet had my booster I might as well have had no vaccine as far as omicron is concerned as I'll not be protected against it. So just wondered really what others were doing that are still waiting for the booster?Smile

I had my 2nd vaccine in May. Got mine on Tuesday. (In Wales.)

If you keep trying they are opening new slots all the time near us. Dh initially got booked for 6th Jan but managed to get a last minute one yesterday morning. I had mine through work at the end of November.

I'm waiting for whenever. Couldn't care less when I have it.

I drove 3 hours for it last night because I didn't want to wait until after Xmas. I'm not so scared of how ill I would be (although that's totally reasonable), I really really don't want to miss another Xmas with my family.

I had my 2nd jab in May and my booster last week. This doesn't sound like anything you need to worry too much about.

Have you looked at the availability again? Mine was initially booked for the 28th and two days later I got a text with an invite from my GP surgery and booked for today. Just had it earlier this afternoon there.

There are also lots of walk-in sessions in my area. You can find these on the local NHS Trust or Clinical Commissioning Group's website usually.

I’m sure if you keep trying you can get earlier appointments. My DH was originally booked for 29 December and I wasn’t originally due mine until January but we both got an appointment sooner by just trying the website.

Thanks all, I've been checking for extra dates added each day, but nothing any earlier then I've booked so far! I'd happily travel but it's only bringing up places fairly close by, and I can't see an option to change that on the website... I'll keep checking and hopefully something will come up sooner.
