I'm so disappointed to find out I was given the modern booster rather rather Pfizer. Is moderna really less protective?

Reports early this month said that recent trials had shown Moderna to be slightly more effective than Pfizer, but there wasn't much in it. I had the same vaccine combo as you and caught covid 2 weeks ago. I just felt like a had a slight cold.

I haven't seen anything to suggest that Moderna is less protective. Where did you read that?

OneMoreParty · 17/12/2021 13:09

Thank you @Boosterquery and @Citygirlinwellies that's reassuring

Also had this and would love any more information in regards to how effective as a booster Moderna is meant to be. Seem to only hear that Pfizer is effective

I think Moderna is holding up better in the trials, isn't it? Longer immunity and protection, pfizer has a bigger/quicker drop off. Look at research in the USA as only 3% of people here have had moderna.

Raindancer411 · 17/12/2021 13:14

I am sure I read that moderna best, Pfizer next and AZ last. I have had two Pfizer and due a jab this afternoon but not sure what one it will be. I am apprehensive over having moderna and would prefer a third pfizer (as there is more details on Pfizer for breastfeeding mums)

I read that moderna is actually stronger hence the stronger immune response (side effects!) but I only read that on Google this morning…

Could have misread it or read the wrong thing though as I’m no scientist. Blush
