How do Brits pronounce lft?
Is it said as L F T or like lift?

I’m in Australia and we call them Rapid antigen tests or rats.
Our conversation would sound like
“Didja see the price of rats?!”

😁

We pronounce it Ellefftees Grin
Good question!

Etinoxaurus · 17/12/2021 03:03

And they’re free at the point of use! For the first time since they were readily available feb this year there’s a shortage because we’re being encouraged to test daily. But most households will have a pack or 2 around.

Said as the letters. L F T's aren't great do a P C R instead.

Kohby190 · 17/12/2021 06:01

Haha I’ve been reading it as lift this whole time. Thank you 😊

I must order some, thanks for the reminder.

thewhatsit · 17/12/2021 06:29

Ha we just say “lateral flow”. I’ve written LFT but never said it out loud.

Bubblty · 17/12/2021 06:30

L.F.T.

And we don’t pay for our tests unless we're off on a flight somewhere

StealthPolarBear · 17/12/2021 06:32

redsky21 · 17/12/2021 06:36

How much do they cost We can get them on the NHS ,although there is a shortage apparently .
Angel2702 · 17/12/2021 07:43

Everyone I know says lateral flow only see it written LFT.

Kohby190 · 17/12/2021 08:08

@x2boys they are $50 for a pack of 5 or $15 each.
They are not really used here because for any kind of official testing we need a PCR and the price is a bit much just for piece of mind.

😳😳I'm not surprised you don't use them regularly!
