Booster day before flying?

I’m in a bit of a dilemma, due to fly out on Sunday and booster is booked for Saturday morning.

My concern is what happens if I develop a fever due to the booster? Would it be wise to rebook my booster for when I arrive back in the uk in January?

I think you will get different replies depending on how it affected posters, I wouldn't fly because I did have a fever and was shivering and shaking the evening of my Moderna jab, also couldn't eat the next day, only lasted about a day altogether but quite unpleasant.

How were you after the previous jags? That might give you an indication of whether you may get a reaction or not. Personally, I felt grotty the day afterwards and would not fly but you may be absolutely fine.

I felt a bit grotty after my Pfizer, lasted a day or two.
I was really bad with my first jab which was Oxford, that one knocked me out for a couple of days and took about 4 days to feel normal :/ I might need to cancel mine and rebook, I really don’t want to have a fever on a plane and mess up our trip, it’s more than just a holiday so we are trying to be really careful

I was fine after my Pfizer jabs but really quite poorly after my Moderna jab. I couldn’t of flown the day after, I was fine the day after that though. It might be better to have the booster if your going on holiday in an aeroplane with how fast transmission is with Omicron.

airlines have the right to refuse boarding and have you assessed by the airport medic if they feel you are unfit to fly or likely to become unwell en- route ....so i would really try and move your booster forwards as presenting with a fever or other illness not likely to be good in current climate!!!

I was fine, I had moderna. Why not get a walk in tomorrow?

AdriannaP · 16/12/2021 20:04

I had Moderna, I would have not been well enough to travel the next day.

EmpressSuiko · 16/12/2021 20:20

No walk ins near my unfortunately, I live very rurally. I think I’ll leave it and get it once we are back, I’d rather be cautious and not risk getting I’ll, don’t want to cause any disruption to the trip, thank you everyone
