Booster tomorrow but close contact

Due to have booster tomorrow but my child tested positive on Sunday so am a close contact. I had PCR test on Monday which was negative and have had negative daily LFT since. Should I still keep appointment or reschedule for a later date as I assume I could still go on to positive?

Following as I'm in exactly the same predicament. DS tested positive Sunday and my booster is booked for Saturday

GreenLunchBox · 15/12/2021 23:33

Tricky one!

elbo7 · 15/12/2021 23:36

I was asked at my appointment if I'd (known i'd) been in contact with anyone with covid in the last week, I hadn't (knowingly) so don't know what difference it could make if I'd said yes, but it could be a problem?

NotABeliever · 15/12/2021 23:40

I was in a similar situation and decided not to delay having the booster. It's not easy to get an appointment where I live and on balance I thought it best to get the booster asap.

MrsAlwaysRight · 15/12/2021 23:42

I don't want to go all the way there and not be able to have it. Wondering if best to reschedule.

I was invited by GP to get my booster on Day 8 of my DD’s isolation. I’d had 2 PCR tests and daily lateral flow tests showing as negative but when I phoned to ask the GP if I could still get my booster I was advised to wait. Thankfully, I was able to get it the day after she came out of isolation. Can you phone anywhere to check?

HeadPain · 15/12/2021 23:47

I don't know, but can calling 119 answer things like this?

Blinkinname · 15/12/2021 23:52

All of your tests have been negative. Keep it .

I had the booster and caught Covid the next day. Am still alive

SparePantsAndLego · 16/12/2021 02:31

The advice i was given in the same situation was to go for my booster, as I was -ve on PCR and also on a LFT on the morning of my appointment.

WoodenReindeer · 16/12/2021 02:44

Each time ive been - before you go in you are asked if you have symptoms/have been a close contact. So here you wouldntbe allowed in to have your booster. (No idea if this is to protect others in the rooms or because of getting it at that time?l

MrsAlwaysRight · 16/12/2021 07:13

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to cancel and rearrange after she's out of isolation.

Go. I was in a similar situation, ds13 positive, day 8 of his isolation, 8 negative lfts and 2 negative pcrs. I went to my booster and was only asked if I had had a positive test within 28 days or did I have any current symptoms. They explicitly didn't ask about current contact.

MrsAlwaysRight · 16/12/2021 21:32

Quick update - I didn't go in the end. A friend went to same vaccination centre today and was asked if she has been a close contact, so I assume I probably would have been turned away.

Interesting, thank you, same here. I think I'm going to wait till my family members' islation period ends. Fingers crossed I don't catch the bloody virus

fudgecat · 18/12/2021 16:45

Update: went for mine today, wasn't even asked about close contacts

LadyIckenham · 18/12/2021 16:53

I was due mine on Friday, DD tested positive on Tuesday. Had a telephone appointment with practice nurse to something else on Thursday who advised me to reschedule for when her isolation ended.
