Booster in pregnancy

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have just booked my booster jab. I'm in favour of the vaccine and had both my jabs before I was pregnant. I'm slightly torn about the booster though, only because im very conscious about what's going in my body at the moment!

Having said that I'm also worried about getting covid in pregnancy too hence getting it booked. Has anyone else had theirs at this stage of pregnancy and everything been ok?

Yes, I had it three weeks ago at about the same gestation. All well, since had an anomaly scan and baby is active as ever.

I didn't have any real side effects with booster or the second dose. The first dose laid me out for a day or two and I couldn't touch my arm for about a week. All three doses were Pfizer.

Had mine last week at 20 weeks and had a scan since with all being well. I'd no side effects other than a sore arm.

Had it at 20 weeks now 32 and fine!
Get it if u can!

PurpleDaisies · 15/12/2021 18:51

You would be nuts not to get it. RCOG guidance is for pregnant women to get any covid vaccines they’re offered. Covid in pregnancy is bad.

I'm 20 weeks and had mine yesterday. All fine except a very sore arm and the baby is kicking away.
I was torn too but on balance (and listening to the press conference just now) I'm already very glad to have got it done.

Following....only 8 weeks, my GP says to book my booster

LouMoo13 · 15/12/2021 19:41

I've not had my booster but I'm 37 weeks and have Covid... it's grim and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy... please take any protection you can...

wingingit33 · 15/12/2021 19:45

I'm 28+5, I had both jabs before pregnancy but still got covid at 15 weeks which was grim. I'm booked for my booster next week.

northernlola · 15/12/2021 19:46

I had my booster in the first trimester (work on the 'frontline' so was eligible early. That was about 10 weeks ago now.

Covid can be very dangerous for women in late pregnancy. Please get the jab.

Booster12 · 15/12/2021 20:04

I had my first jab at 19 weeks and second at 28. Baby has been born now and is totally healthy

MONSTERSALAD · 15/12/2021 20:06

Mine is booked for Friday, and I'm looking forward to it. I want to keep myself and my little bean safe!

sheusesmagazines · 16/12/2021 07:35

Had 1st at 13, 2nd at 21, booster at 36 weeks.

38 weeks now and all is well

Thesechipsdontlie · 16/12/2021 13:52

Ok you all have me convinced, I will book the booster.

@MONSTERSALAD how far along are you, if you don't mind me asking?
