Omicron and Menopause

Has anyone else noticed the symptoms of Omicron are similar to the symptoms of meno / peri-meno?

If they change the PCR guidance to reflect the apparent new symptoms I will need to test constantly...

Extreme tiredness
Muscle pain
Hit sweats

ZittiEBuoni · 15/12/2021 17:42

Yes, I thought this as soon as I read it!

Ha yes! I said this earlier on another thread.

I'm menopausal and I'm on medication/have an autoimmune condition which causes all of these symptoms (and other covid-y ones too). I think I'll just camp out at my local test centre Grin

Seriously though, how are you supposed to know when to PCR? I LFT two or three times a week but I'm concerned that they're not reliable enough. That said they caught a completely asymptomatic bout of covid in September so fingers crossed they would again.

evenflo3 · 15/12/2021 18:17

@TheVampiresWife I have also just been started on meds that have side effects similar to Omicron (and menopause)!

I have decided to use Lat Flows unless symptoms feel massively different...

I'm waiting for my period which has been sporadic for 7 months now

Also think we are all asymptomatic carriers of the plague

Whole school is down we didn't get a hint of if it... but I keep having night sweats which usually means I'm fighting a lurgy
Although the nights have been warmer?

lottiegarbanzo · 15/12/2021 18:26

I find this with most illnesses and diseases! 'Mortally ill? Oh no, probably just peri-meno / menopause symptoms'.

But yes, 'feeling hot?' well yes but no but yes but no...

BlackeyedSusan · 15/12/2021 18:34

menopause, the gift that keeps on giving.

evenflo3 · 15/12/2021 19:29

I think as going to insert a witty comment about gifts that keep on giving but I can't cause I'm too tired, hit and angry
