Trying to create a title so as not to panic anyone!

What are your guesses, will schools close again?

Wow blast from the past.

Still hospitals are still creaking in winter and A and E waits are ridiculous now. We've not recovered.

So glad this Christmas isn't marred by wondering if they'll go back to school. Gosh so glad that's over.

Let's not forget:
Boris: "Schools are safe".
Then closed within 24 hours.
Let us also remember that Nick Gibb proudly declared "no child should be left behind as a result of the pandemic". How is that going? Have they all caught up, then? And also, not as a result of the pandemic: as a result of LOCKDOWNS. It is vital to make that distinction, no matter how much the government try to muddy the waters by saying "because of the pandemic" or "because of covid".

The mark of a civilised society is how it treats its young.
This "society" repeatedly threw children under the bus, who were the at the least risk from the virus, robbing them of their education and social development, during their formative years. This legacy of school closures enacted on a panicked whim will bite hard in a few years' time.
"But lockdowns were only for a year or so".
That is a fifth of a five-year-old's life.
The legacy of lockdowns will last much, much longer.
