Close contacts must isolate?

A friend of mine was a close contact to someone at work who tested positive.

Now about 10 people in her workplace have tested positive in the last two weeks

She went for her PCR today and has been told that regardless of the result she must isolate for ten days.

I was sure that it's only household contacts who have to isolate even if vaccinated.

I don't want to query her if I am wrong but I thought she could leave isolation with a negative PCR if fully vacx'd?

I think it's different for the new variant

From tomorrow in England fully vax have to take daily LF tests if In contact with any case including omicron no isolation
