Bit of back story last Sunday I had a itchy throat pain in one side of face. Didn't think much of it. Monday dp said he felt weird Tuesday morning he did a home test blaring positive I also done a home test negative. Both went for pcr he was positive I was negative. He's isolating. I've been testing every day. From last Sunday I've had the itchy throat headache on and off although it's gone now I even developed a dry cough for two days and a horse voice. I had a runny left side nose. Bottom back pain and loose stools. I've got loads of engery and doing everything I normally do. My
Kids all have cough and cold.

My question is I'm negative daily. But is there a chance I have covid and I'm just getting negative on results? I'm asthmatic and are them symptoms I've said covid symptoms I never get a cough even tho I have asthma I just don't suffer from coughs ! I feel fine today tho nothing!

When you say home test I presume you mean LFT? You need to book a PCR. Yes, there's def a chance you have covid. You can have covid with mild symptoms, feel fine, and test neg on an LFT.

Hope you continue to feel fine! And hope your Dp is ok too.

covidcovidandmore · 13/12/2021 10:48

@heldinadream yes that's what I mean 😊 ok thanks but wouldn't the lateral flow pick it up ? It has done from day one for my partner and he has symptoms. He's fine thank u ☺️

She already said she had a PCR at the same time as her husband and it was negative. You probably need another PCR, OP.

Sorry you're right I didn't read it properly. Ooops. Blush

Similar dilemma. Dp tested positive last weekend. I had a cough all week but pcrs and lft's all negative but tested positive yesterday so assume I've gone from one virus to another.

Amberflames · 13/12/2021 10:57

The most recent data I’ve seen on this is that LFTs are 80% effective at picking up any level of covid and 90% effective at detecting those who are most contagious. Apparently if you get a negative lateral flow followed by a positive PCR this likely indicates you are not at peak transmission.

Or perhaps my tests were false negatives. Finding it hard to tell!

@Coronachristmas21 I'm so sorry u are now
Positive did u isolate away? Or was u still mixing x

OP posts:
Coronachristmas21 · 13/12/2021 11:11

@covidcovidandmore we haven't isolated from each other. Only because we have a small house and dc have sen so it's hard. We have been opening doors and windows for isolation, extra cleaning and not sharing beds. Dp has been sleeping downstairs but we've been near each other through the day anyway 🤷‍♀️ Also no kisses or face to face contact where it can be helped! Washing hands constantly!

covidcovidandmore · 13/12/2021 11:19

@Coronachristmas21 how are u feeling? How's your dh ?

Have you done a PCR since the cough started? Even if you've had a negative in the past few days, you need to do a PCR if you then newly develop any of the symptoms.

covidcovidandmore · 13/12/2021 11:37

@kittensinthekitchen the cough has gone all
I've got is my
Voice has changed. All my kids are negative my 11 month old has a chest infection as dose my 2 year old and 5 year old. We have been testing daily and we are negative! It's crazy I had symptoms before DH yet I was negative on pcr maybe I have what the kids have got. If I had covid now and had had it from last Sunday would it still
Pick it up on a pcr ?

Blimy OP - you've got three 5 and under with chest infections, DP with covid and you're not well yourself but you're full of energy? I'm impressed! You're a bit of a superwoman dealing with that lot so well.

covidcovidandmore · 13/12/2021 11:55

@heldinadream don't get me wrong come 10pm I'm
Done 😂 seriously it's been hard but I'm mum and need to look after them all. No time for rest in this house.

We are pretty good thanks. Dp felt rough for a day or two. Ds a slight cough and felt rough for a day or so. I'm at the start so to early to say! Feeling like a head cold at the minute. I was poorly last week too as above so I'm just confused by it!

Coronachristmas21 · 13/12/2021 12:28

Also, I really hope you are all better soon both covid and non covid family members 💕
