Hi
DS1 positive LFT Monday and positive on PCR results in Tuesday
DS2 faint positive Friday on LFT and positive on PCR results Saturday.
So on day 8 of ds1 and day 4 of ds2.
Me and DH double jabbed.
Both still negative on LFT. I’ve had two negative PCRS last one being Friday, DH last negative PCR Wednesday.
Are we now safe for Christmas and unlikely to catch it?

Just woke up to a text and email, we are all negative

Mokoloko · 14/12/2021 09:28

@Muddlebubble good news!

Husband is day 10 and my PCR has come
Back negative. Am I in the clear?! I bloomin hope so 🤞

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 07:47

@StarStruK
I'd say your very nearly in the clear now! 🤞🤞
I've been feeling very weak/fatigued since last night and hot.
About to take a lft but pretty sure it'll be negative. Hopefully get pcr results today

Onehotmess · 15/12/2021 07:56

If we count my sons LFT as day zero, my daughter tested positive day 1, myself day 4, husband day 6, me and DH were negative on LFT each day in between x

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 08:00

@Onehotmess
Oh really was it just a pcr that picked it up then? I really do feel pretty awful today I haven't an ounce of energy.
My LFT is negative x

I'm the only one in the house that doesn't have it and, obviously, if I get it now, that's me isolating over Christmas :/

So I'm isolating from them all in the room next to the kitchen. I prepare everyone's meals, which I leave on the landing to be picked up. Some time later I retrieve the empty plates. We zoom each other. I bang on the ceiling with a broom handle sometimes and my DP replies by banging on the floor. Sometimes I go outside and we chat through the window.

@Twopenny
Haha I like the zoom calls and broom banging! Hopefully you don't get it sounds like a good plan! 🤞
Unfortunately I can't isolate and haven't been as the boys are 3 and 7 and my DH is out at work all day.

@Lalalablahblahblah
Ooo 2 boosters yes be very interesting to see how they do hold up keep us posted!
On day 10 for my youngest and day 6 for my eldest

Yes, we all had PCR on ‘day 1’ DC both positive, me and DB beg. I was admitted to hospital (unrelated) and tested positive on admission. Hubby did lat flow that day still negative, then booked a PCR as he had symptoms on ‘ day 4 but couldn’t get an appointment for 2 days! (Still negative on LFT though!) x

FrogOfFrogHall · 15/12/2021 08:34

I had it (I think I got it 4/5 days after exposure). DH caught it on day 7, then the kids caught it on my day 10 (DHs day 3). Sorry as I know this wasn't the news you were hoping for. DH and I both double vaccinated.

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 08:36

@Onehotmess
Blimey that's crazy isn't it I've heard a lot of stories now of LFT not picking them up. They've been great for both my DC but I guess time will tell when my PCR results from yesterday come back. I have a feeling they will be negative though but no idea what else this rubbish feeling could be haven't been out in 9 days 😂

OP posts:
Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 08:38

@FrogOfFrogHall
Ah right at the end how rubbish must that of been!
Did you have any symptoms and did LFT pick it up for you all?

OP posts:
Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 08:39

@Lalalablahblahblah
Apologies got the days mixed up again keep forgetting day one is actually day "0"
So we are on day 9 of youngest and day 6 of eldest

FrogOfFrogHall · 15/12/2021 08:53

We had vague (feeling a bit off) symptoms, picked up on positive lateral flows then confirmed by PCR. I lost my sense of smell on day 4 but thank God for lateral flows as I wouldn't have thought to get a PCR without them until I lost my sense of smell.

Brigittebidet · 15/12/2021 09:34

So we're on day 9. Penultimate day of DD's isolation. We are all still negative. This has ripped through her year at school so that over a third are off at the moment - and yet.... not one single family member that I know has caught it from any of these children. What is going on?

Either than, or we'll all wait until 14 days and then test positive. So far we've done LFTs each day and 2 PCRs. Will book another PCR for the weekend.

Blueducks · 15/12/2021 09:41

Our youngest had it. I tested positive on his day 4. We thought my husband had swerved it, but then he tested positive on my day 9! So annoying.

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 09:54

@Brigittebidet
How odd! It does seem to be a new wave for the young doesn't it? So strange!

@Blueducks
Argh what luck! Did you guys have any symptoms prior and did LFT work for youse,

OP posts:
Blueducks · 15/12/2021 10:18

@Mokoloko out little one had a temp for about 24 hours. I had symptoms of a heavy cold, cough, lack of taste and smell and generally felt quite crap for a few days - despite being triple jabbed! I never had a positive lft!
My husband started feeling congested last night and had a strong positive lft this morning.
We’ve not tried to isolate or done anything different to usual, so I’m not surprised it’s done the rounds. Although, I am surprised at how long it’s taken to show up for my husband. We had started to think we might be in the clear!

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 10:24

@Blueducks
Argh these LFT! They seem to work for some and not for others it's so bizarre.
Will you isolate with your husband or excited to get out of jail haha! You can't have long until day 10 now? Sorry can't find your original post.

I don't feel as weak now but still not 100% and just feel like somethings on route whether that be a cold flu or what!

OP posts:
WhathaveIdoneagain · 15/12/2021 10:27

Hope your test comes back negative @Mokoloko.

We completed our self-isolation yesterday. Yay! Thankfully we all had positive PCRs on the same day. LFT was positive for only DH. DS and I tested consistently negative on LFT. We only had cold symptoms, no fever or coughs. Lost our sense of smell and taste way after the test.

Hope everyone feels better today. Flowers

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 10:30

@WhathaveIdoneagain
Thank you! Enjoy your freedom!
I will keep this thread posted on my results 🤞

I’m out on Friday! As it’s the same episode, I doubt he can re-infect us. Luckily he had been isolating with us, so no worries about who he’s seen this week.
I’ve got so much to do that I will be dashing about all weekend. Hoping to take the kids to something Christmassy as we’ve not been able to so far.
Fingers crossed for you!

Mokoloko · 15/12/2021 10:51

@Blueducks bet you and the children can't wait!
My children have missed all their Christmas days and lunches at school and our trip to Santa Sunday just gone :( so sad.
Have a lovely weekend
