Negative LFT, feel like shit.

Husband has covid, started with symptoms on Tuesday last. I've felt fine and am double jabbed (as is he). LFTs been coming back negative.

I woke last night feeling fever-y, got back to sleep then woke up this morning feeling awful. I feel, hot, headachy, sore throat and that shitty taste is my mouth like I am ill. Did a LFT and it's clear.

The thing is the last time I felt like this was after my first jab, my friend who had covid a while ago described it as similar to how she felt after the jab.

What are the odds I have covid despite the negative LFT?

Never mind, just looked at the LFT again to throw it in the bin and it's positive. I did it nearly and hour ago and it's just come up.

If you have changed taste/smell, you are supposed to go for a PCR.

Tests can be negative due to user error, or timing, or (occasionally) test failure.

If you have symptoms at the same time as a family member has confirmed covid, the odds are you also have covid.

You should only look at them in the correct time frame. But I would order a PCR

Just seen your update, hope you feel better soon Brew

My LFT took 30 mins to show a very feint negative line.

Partner never showed positive on an LFT.

Both of us we're positive on a PCR.

You should get a PCR and not rely on LFTs. They throw up false negatives at a relatively high rate.

Thanks all, going to get a PCR.
