My 6 year old son has tested positive, rest of us negative but daughter (8) has a really nasty cough. They've had lots of close contact. Is it a worry for a child to catch covid on top of an already bad cough?

You may have tested your daughter too early, perhaps do another PCR test on her just to be sure.

I have no advice but in the same dilemma! Dp tested positive last weekend. I got a hacking cough but tested negative - 3 times on pcr. Re tested yesterday and now positive, I feel fine so far. Dd also has a cough, she's had it for 3 weeks and all her tests have been negative back 3 weeks ago and now. She hasn't caught it off the rest of us yet! I know it's not a new cough for her so I'm just her keeping an eye for new symptoms and regularly testing her!

Try and ventilate home. Hepa filters are great.

We had this ! 8 year old tested positive with monitor head cold . Toddler was really sick with cough . Over the 10 days toddler tested negative with three pcrs and multiple antigens . I caught toddlers virus and then Covid on top of it four days later . It wasn’t nice but I got through it
I would do another pcr in case it was too early .
Fingers crossed you will all be well for Christmas 🤞

Thanks all. My daughter's cough has been there since Thursday and negative PCR on Sunday. So don't think I tested too soon, just that they are catching every virus under the sun at the moment! Never-ending isn't it?!

Forgot to mention, my son was a contact of a few cases, and daughter, none that I am aware of.
