Too late to prevent the tidal wave?

Is it not too late for boosters to make a difference to Omicron numbers? Sure, it will obviously be great that the number of boosted people rises as fast as possible but with the numbers of Omicron cases rising so rapidly will it really make much difference over the next 6 weeks? My thinking is that if it take a couple of weeks to gain immunity after a jab, the numbers will be so high that restrictions will have to increase anyway?

I also wonder what will happen to those of us boosted in October. Will we need another booster in the next few months?
