To wonder what's the logic behind wearing a mask under your chin?

Now that more people are wearing masks again, there's a rise in the number of people in venues like shops and public transport wearing their masks under their chin. If anyone round here does it, or knows people who do, can you explain the thinking behind it? If you do it because you don't approve of having to wear one, wouldn't it be easier just to leave it off? I struggle to understand the point of taking the trouble to put one on only to put it under your chin, or under your nose.

So you think its better for this poster to never wear a mask at all than to wear it as much as possible then have a break when it gets too much?

It totally depends on her medical condition; but my point was that, given what she said about the effects of masks on her, she could validly claim a medical exemption and therefore wouldn't be fined or arrested anyway.

@megustalacerveza

So that they can pull it up quickly if it looks like there will be a spot check so they don't get fined.

People are so incredibly selfish.

A "spot check"?! Give over Grin

I keep mine under my chin between shops so I can quickly pull it up when necessary. It also conceals my double chin quite nicely 😁

Under the nose, those who pull it down when talking, chin masks, dirty scruffy ones, baggy ones, the list goes on.

Just wear a clean one that fits properly ffs.

Has it occurred to you that some people may not have the money to keep buying masks, so have to make do with ones which have either been worn and washed repeatedly and are baggy, or reused numerous times and are therefore 'dirty and scruffy'?

If you had a fiver for food to last three or four days, for example, would you think buying a mask is a priority?

@megustalacerveza 'spot check'? You what?!

xxxGirlCrushxxx · 13/12/2021 12:51
@xxxGirlCrushxxx I only touch the elastic ear bands when putting it back on.
Yes but what else has it touched in the meantime....it's not clean is it

TroysMammy · 13/12/2021 14:14

@xxxGirlCrushxxx me, it's touched me. My body and no-one elses. I'm not swinging it around and using it to clean surfaces. I'll continue to wear a mask thank you.
