Hope I don't regret asking. Has anyone else had chest pain towards the end of Covid?

Double jabbed, 40yo, no health conditions etc, normal BMI.

Symptoms started mildly last weekend but then ramped up and by Wednesday I was totally wiped out. BUT only a very mild cough and no difficulty breathing.

What's worrying me slightly is that I started getting chest tightness accompanied by sharp pain in the left side of my chest. This has been going on for about three days now. Other than that, I feel like I'm recovering pretty well.

It's never bad enough to stop me in my tracks or anything like that, and I don't notice it getting worse with exercise (aka brisk walk from the fridge to the sofa). It's just there in the background. Xmas Sad It feels quite a lot like an anxiety/stress symptom, and I'm sure that's at least partly what's behind it as it's enough to make anyone anxious frankly.

Today there seems to be less tightness but a bit more pain.

I suppose what I'm looking for here is lots of responses along the lines of 'get a grip' and 'don't you have any real problems?' Grin Or possibly several posters who can confirm that the exact same thing happened to them just before they won the lottery and lost all their frown lines overnight.

Stick with it (111) @JesusInTheCabbageVan, you’re not taking up resources you don’t need, that’s the thing with chest pain/tightness - it could be nothing or it could be a warning. Imagine your BF was asking your advice - what would you tell them? Don’t treat yourself with less care than you’d treat someone else.

Hope you manage to get reviewed reasonably quickly. Don’t forget, if your symptoms worsen/change/continue you’re to seek help again. No offence, but you sound like the ‘I didn’t want to make a fuss’ type - guaranteed they’re always the ones who should absolutely make a fuss! Smile

I had covid 6 weeks ago - have had my first vaccine (2 weeks previous) and have been getting chest pains on/off since!

Thank you everyone - have been through NHS triage etc and spoken to a nurse, and she wanted me to speak to the OOH GP which will be another few hours potentially.

Urgh, it's DS birthday tomorrow, really bad timing with all this.

Sorry, most boring and frustrating thread update ever. Having spent the day doing the absolute bare minimum, it does seem to be improving. I had a courtesy call just now from OOH and they're still nowhere near being able to speak to me. They must be absolutely overrun, poor sods Sad I'm pretty sure they won't want to see me atm as things are better anyway, so I've told them I'll just keep an eye and get in touch again if it gets worse. Thanks again all. Brew

Oh that's frustrating! Are you likely to be able to get a GP appointment tomorrow?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/12/2021 20:21

I will if it gets worse again, but it's DS's birthday so I'm going to hope I've turned a corner.

So far it's always been worst in the afternoon/evening, which coincides with the time when I've been busiest. Today I've been taking it easy and it's now much better, so fingers crossed!

Had exactly this twice with covid. Disappeared about 20 days after positive test.
