Booster for under 40s

Just a heads up for those previously unable to book booster jabs. Have just managed to book my booster online- although I don’t meet the criteria on the first page of the website ( I am not over 40). I went through the booking process and it allowed me to book it for 4 days time!

Its open for over 30s now anyway officially Monday but allowing bookings on website - you won't be turned away

I know people who have tried and managed to book when they were outside of the criteria and they were turned away at the vaccination centre. The reason is that you are not currently eligible bit are trying to game the system, they are unlikely to reward that.

The booking criteria has changed. Explicitly asks for your date of birth and no longer asks whether you are nhs staff etc. You will be fine. Over 30s are eligible from tomorrow anyway. No one is trying to trick the system etc

DH (35) managed to book last night and got a slot this morning, he's just been and wasn't turned away. No tricking the system, answered all questions on online booking - not CEV, not a care worker, just DOB and NHS#.

I'm 34, booked last night, 5.5 months from second jab. Been this morning and got the booster with no problem 😁

It's not gaming the system if you put in your date of birth and the system allows you to book.

There were many dozens of appointments available at multiple venues near me every day for the next couple of weeks so hardly queue jumping either.
