Help me work this out (closet contact testing/choosing to isolate)

DD was a close contact of another child at nursery on Monday. Notified Wednesday, home PCR test yesterday (so day 4/5 after exposure), waiting for results. Nursery say she can come back to nursery on Monday if she has a negative PCR. She doesn't legally have to self-isolate (under 18, not omicron, me and DH both double jabbed). Other children in the bubble did PCR tests on Weds/Thurs, have had negative results and were back in nursery on Friday.

But...if her whole bubble were exposed on Monday, and it takes a few days between exposure and symptoms/positive PCR result, feels like there's a good chance sending her next week might expose her again? Ie someone in the bubble might have tested negative negative on Wednesday / Thursday but be infectious next week? Am I miscalculating?

Would normally just follow the guidance as I think the benefit of her being in nursery outweighs the standard exposure risk, but really don't want any of us having it/isolating over Christmas.
