My DP felt tired Monday night and had a blaring positive Tuesday morning. So would he of been contagious Sunday Monday or even the Friday and Saturday ? I really don't understand it all

My dh also has it. Google doesn’t come up with any straight answers other than they are probably most infectious in the period immediately before symptoms start. Not sure where that leaves dh. Started with poorly throat on Tuesday but didn’t go positive until Thursday. I am guessing he was most infectious Monday-Wednesday.

I’ve not gone down yet.

GnomeyGnome · 11/12/2021 10:24

When I tested positive t&t wanted to know my contacts for the 48 hours before.

Frazzled2207 · 11/12/2021 10:25

In your case from Saturday -Monday or so I think.

Hope he’s not ill. My dh is just very asleep today.

@Frazzled2207 he's not jabbed and he has cold symptoms and achy knees and he's lost his sence or taste and smell he's locked away in a room. I've got gone down yet. I'm double jabbed last jab was October. I'm asthmatic to I also have 5 kids and none of them are positive but they have been ill before he tested positive ! Hope you are ok to

It’s 48 hours before symptoms to about 5 days after that you’re most contagious. Good luck!

I’m on day 9 of covid and neither my parent or daughter caught it.

So has he caught it off one of your kids?
My dh caught it off ds who went down a week last Friday.
So this is day 9 of it being in the house and imm amazingly still ok for now. Both dh and I double jabbed but me far more recently.

mumof52468 · 11/12/2021 10:34

My DD had a positive lateral flow on Monday which was confirmed by PCR on Tuesday. Test and trace had no interest in friends that had been staying with us on Sunday! Hmm

Frazzled2207 · 11/12/2021 10:34

Sounds a bit OTT but this seems to happen with some (not all) t&T calls. I know my ds caught it off a boy he saw two days (and day before) he started with symptoms. No way was he infectious before he was infected himself!

ChristmasCovid · 11/12/2021 17:42

2 days before symptoms start you are classed as infectious.
This is the period t&t will want details of contacts.

They then ask where you have been up to 7 days before to gather data for phe as to where you may have caught Covid (possible outbreaks etc)

Flamingolingo · 11/12/2021 17:45

He works in a hospital and is unvaccinated?! Sheesh!

There might be a good reason for it...
Heartofglass12345 · 11/12/2021 19:00

If he works in a hospital and is patient facing they may trace him back 7 days from Tuesday, that's what we do in our local health board

Ah that makes more sense
