Indeterminate result?

Indeterminate result on PCR for my dd, weve done another and impatiently awaiting result. Is this literally there was something the matter with swab ( shes full of cold) or is it more likely to be positive but not strong enough yet- as I've been told by a few people!

I've just had Covid so did DH. His Pcr was positive and mine was negative even though I definitely had Covid and had positive lateral flow tests. We are both doubled vaccinated. In my experience both the vaccine and the tests are not to be relied upon.

Thanks @tenredthings

Hope your DD is ok. It's hard to say for sure but this happened to my DH when we all tested positive, his was inconclusive. He then took another PCR the next day and was positive.

Thanks @sparkle275 yes I've been googling (I shouldn't!) And that it seems one reason is the test has some covid virus detected but not enough for the positive threshold, so basically tested too early. My dd's class is full of covid so not looking hopeful but she was full of cold and I think the other reason for that result is that the sample is contaminated by mucus- apparently less common but who knows. .... Lfts are negative though.

Anyone else?

Ahh googling can be your worst enemy sometimes, I'm terrible for it. At least the LFT's are negative, maybe some hope. Have you got the results back yet?
