Do you think shielding will return?

Do you think shielding will return even if most of the vulnerable have been double jabbed and had boosters?

I can't see shielding coming back, nor can I see another proper lockdown either, too many Conservatives are against it and it doesn't really make sense to keep locking down again and again, we need to find ways to manage things better.

More likely will be measures that are less costly, both in a financial and social sense. More testing, vaccine passports, expanding the vaccination program etc.

I don’t think full lockdown or official shielding will return. More likely advice to limit social interactions if vulnerable. It’s getting on for two years and covid isn’t going away, people need to adapt lifestyles to suit their own needs.

How are you supposed to do that when you're vulnerable, have little or no protection from vaccines but you have to go out to work, or live with someone who does?

I agree with the pp who suggested that furlough should return for the most vulnerable (and possibly their household) until we're over the Omicron hump, if it proves to be as much of an issue as it's expected to be. Vulnerable people getting on packed public transport then sitting for eight hours in an office or facing customers seems to be an ideal way to bump up hospital admissions and put the NHS under strain which may necessitate a full lockdown.

Would also be cheaper than a full lockdown, too.

@onlyreadingneverposting8 well if you ever need any names or numbers if there are issues feel free to message me....
I know what your saying though all of my sons have crohns in some respect. My sister has it and refuses a colonoscopy. You can but try.
I have had my op cancelled so many times which even my stoma nurse says is due to me being excepting and too ' nice'. Not fair really is it?
