Anxiety has got the better of me.

Dp tested positive last weekend. He had been in V close contact with someone with it and caught it. Apart from feeling rough for 1 day, he's got barely any symptoms apart from losing smell and taste.

I have a cough and have done since Saturday but both my pcrs have been negative. Also fine daily lfts and will do another pcr. I've finally accepted my cough cannot because covid due to negative tests so I'll look out for other signs instead.

Then it comes to dc who are also coughing. Dd has been coughing for 3 weeks now anyway n all her pcrs negative. Dd has also developed a cough and two pcrs negative. I am told they should be in school but I don't think it's appropriate. Dp hasn't really isolated from then (dc have sen and don't really understand)

Plus because they are coughing. Dd has been school uo until last weekend with a cough without an issue (negative pcrs) but now there's actually covid in the house, I don't feel it's right. If people hear her cough they'll just think she's got covid.

Dp hasn't even had a cough. So the coughing people haven't got covid - yet!

Any tips on how to get rid of lingering coughs would be great please! Dd is utterly miserable after coughing for 3 weeks. She's coughing at night making her tired too!

To add I'm so sad and I feel Christmas is ruined. If more of us catches it, we will be isolating up until Christmas. Dc are missing all the Christmas things they love at school. Dd'a first every play (not that parents were going into watch, being filmed!), Christmas lunches, all the fun things 😢😢

PCR and LFT tests aren't 100% accurate.

From my own experience, I know loads of people who have had only 1 positive case in the house when everyone has been ill with Covid symptoms.

If you are concerned about sending kids into school etc, ask the school for advice. Ours have a policy of not to send kids if there is a positive case in the house.

Absolutely. I'm just really confused. I already know Dd had a cough so not a new cough for her and she's had one negative pcr. Will do another over the weekend. As for me and Ds, Ds has done 3 postal pcrs and all negative and I've done 2 - both negative. It's likely me and Ds could have caught Dd's cough - half her class had it too so it's going around just as likely as catching covid off Dp. I feel like I'm just waiting to test positive now! I can't see how we won't catch it off Dp despite that he doesn't have many symptoms!
