School and negative PCR

DD7 has been off today with a cough awaiting a pcr result. Its negative so she obviously has some non covid thing and is otherwise totally fine. I can send her to school tomorrow right even with a cough?

Yes, she can go back to school if she's had a negative PCR. Check with school if they need to see evidence of the negative. We require it in ours, especially if they're still coughing.

I'm assuming she had the PCR because of her coughing, and the cough wasn't newly developed since she did the test? I think you have to be careful of thee timing with the PCRs. I was unwell (snotty, temp, fatigue) and got a negative PCR so went back to work. Then DH tested positive on a lateral flow a few days later so we all got retested on PCR. Mine was positive the second time. I'm convinced the snottiness etc was the COVID but it didn't show up on the first PCR.

She needs to be physically fit to go to school though. If she's still feeling under the weather, then negative PCR or not, she shouldn't be coming in to school. Not fair to her or her classmates and school staff as what could happen - they end up starting with a cough, then have to get a PCR etc etc.....

I get what your saying @CurlyhairedAssassin but her Dad's cough has lasted about 10 days and if she's the same she'll be out till the end of term. I'll see what she is like in the morning. I'd never send her in if she was actually poorly.
