Hello, I’m a bit confused can anyone help please?
I did a lateral flow test last night which was faint positive. I entered it into the gov website and got an email saying ‘your lateral flow test is positive please book a PCR test’.
I did a PCR at 9.30 this morning and just got an email at 7.30pm. It said ‘your recent Corona virus test is positive, please self isolate etc’. The issue I have with the test date on the email is still the 8th so yesterday. Is this not referring to this mornings PCR which was on the 9th? It does seem quite a quick result. Plus the code I was given for the lateral flow and the new result is the same. So it’s still talking about the lateral flow?!

Sorry for sounding stupid!

Yes it’s talking about your LFT.
The PCR emails specify PCR.

JanglyBeads · 09/12/2021 20:53

Yeah I don’t think many PCR results are that quick atm.

They're really quick at the moment - well done on getting such a fast result.
Yes, you need to isolate from the 8th when you took the first test.

You need to isolate in both scenarios. The email about a PCR test states it is a PCR (or other lab test) so there is no mistaking the two.

Great thanks all. I’ll continue to wait for another message then.

Good luck. It’s all a bit shit at the moment!
