Wondering if anyone is getting any different SE from the pfizer booster?

i got the usual sore arm, but this time i'm getting some gastric nonsense going on too.. trying to decide if its a SE or a coincidence.

I had AZ for my first two and then a pfizer booster. Main side effects were nausea and tiredness but teen DS had a really ticky tummy for about a week after his pfizer jab.

SmallProvincial · 11/12/2021 18:56

I had the Pfizer booster this morning and just realised I felt a bit nauseous, so popped here to see if anyone was feeling similar.

SmallProvincial · 11/12/2021 18:57

I was not nauseous after jab 1 or 2.

Jab 1 I felt fine, but had a super sore arm.

Jab 2 my arm was pretty okay, but I felt a bit achy and feeble for a day.

Sunsetsupernova · 11/12/2021 18:58

Yes my Dad had AZ first two and then Pfizer for the booster and had a runny tummy for a few days afterwards

bozzabollix · 11/12/2021 21:05

Had AZ for vax 1 and 2, then Pfizer booster. Felt a bit hot, cold and shivery for a night and a little under the weather for a couple of days. Sore arm but nothing major.

GoinSouth · 11/12/2021 23:56

AZ first two, Moderna third and have not felt well for a week now. Flu symptoms for 3-4 days (not consecutively), nausea one day, felt ok one day and now, a week later I'm back to having achy flu symptoms and just about had enough.

BrightonOrLancaster · 11/12/2021 23:57

I have a really sore armpit which is a first!

Nospringchix · 12/12/2021 00:01

Had AZ first two and was fine. Moderna booster and not well for a week. Tired, sore joints and bad stomach.

PanicPrevention · 12/12/2021 00:44

Armpit is probably a swollen lymph node.
Ive had swollen lymph node on my collar bone since a couple of days after my second jab about a month ago.
Not uncommon side effect from what I could find online.

BrightonOrLancaster · 12/12/2021 00:52

@PanicPrevention
Your name suits you! I've taken paracetamol but should I take ibuprofen? I dont actually know what the difference really is between the two 🤔

FinallyHere · 12/12/2021 01:45

AZ fir first and second, Moderna booster.

No reaction at all from any of them.

Tealightsandd · 12/12/2021 01:49

AZ first two, Pfizer booster. Flu type side effects after first, nothing but slight ache in arm (for one day) after the others.

If your symptoms go on longer than a couple of days, it might be worth getting a Covid test. It can cause gastric issues, and it's very possible that you caught it shortly before your vaccine.

Hope you feel better soon.

ThierryEnnui · 12/12/2021 01:50

Have had three Pfizer shots, nothing after any of them except sore arm

Elsalvador · 12/12/2021 03:24

Pfizer 1st and 2nd jab - sore arm nothing more.

Booster - Pfizer. Sore arm but for the rest of the day, felt a bit achy as if I was coming down with the flu but fine by morning.

Only difference is that my booster was a walk in so I hadn't prepared by drinking fluids and making sure I was well hydrated as I did with jab 1 and 2.

HangingDitch · 12/12/2021 03:58

First two jabs were AZ. Had a sore arm for about 4-5 days afterwards. No other side effects.

Had booster at the end of last week, Pfizer. No side effects at all except for a slightly sore arm on the day.

wandawaves · 12/12/2021 04:36

All 3 Pfizer here. 1 and 2, no problems at all.
#3, nausea, drop in BP and associated almost fainting for 24 hours, mild temp.

sylv165 · 12/12/2021 04:54

AZ for first two jabs, no side effects other than a sore arm. Had my Pfizer booster yesterday morning and am now lying awake with a temp, shivering and feeling quite nauseous. Hopefully it'll pass soon 🤞

They are both painkillers but they work in different ways. Paracetamol has an additional effect of bringing down temperatures, whereas ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory so will reduce the effect of swelling if there is any.
Lymph glands do swell as a result of vaccination or infection (as they contain more white blood cells to fight off the infection) so ibuprofen can be used to reduce this, but it's a natural part of the immune response.

HeronLanyon · 12/12/2021 05:35

I had no side effects other than sore arm and even that only for half a day. No effects from first two jabs either here though

ChangingStates · 12/12/2021 06:01

Pfizer booster yesterday afternoon, woken up with a bit of an achey arm, nothing else (yet)

Wallywobbles · 12/12/2021 06:02

First 2 Pfizer no effect. 3rd Moderna felt grim for 2 days.

WhoWants2Know · 12/12/2021 06:49

I had 2 AZ and spent the day in bed after the first. Moderna yesterday and so far just feeling weak and don't want to move.

Youngatheart00 · 12/12/2021 07:08

Mega achy arm after Pfizer booster Friday - it’s still sore now hence me being awake at this time on a Sunday when I really should be snoozing!

Not had any gastric symptoms

RedElephants · 12/12/2021 07:11

AZ first to jabs, 2 jab sore very uncomfortable arm for nearly 3 weeks! And took 2 days off work.
Had booster yesterday lunchtime, Moderna, arm sore, feel a bit achy, hopefully that'll be it..
