So I've done two very very faint positive lateral flows and I'm waiting for my PCR.

I'm double vaccinated and very careful as I've got a four month old, and I've been really worried.

Is there anything I should be doing? I'm wearing a mask when I feed her (exclusively breastfed) and she's sleeping in her own cot, but it's impossible to stay away from her as I'm the main caregiver and was kissing her all day yesterday!

I'm worried Sad

WHO have been very clear all along to keep bf. Whatever you have it’s very likely she has already been exposed to but the good news is you will already be producing antibodies. Make sure you stay hydrated.

Make life easier for yourself and stop wearing a mask while feeding. You share a house; if you have it then she will BUT she has the protection of your immune system.

Hope you're both ok

Just to reassure you, I passed on covid to my 3 week old Grandson who lives with us. He was born 4 weeks early and weighed 4.12. We were so worried, but thankfully it was just like a cold for him and he recovered after a few days.

The doctor told us not to be overly worry but keep a close eye on him like you would with any illness, because babies usually have it very mildly.

I isolated from him as soon as I got symptoms but he had obviously caught it before I knew I was carrying it. Ditch the mask.

BLess you, don’t wear a mask when breastfeeding 😭 that’s heartbreaking! Your bond with your child is so important. It’s likely children will have mild illness as other have said. Hope you can relax a little and carry on kissing your baby xxx

Ditch the mask. You'll be passing on antibodies through your milk. Hope you feel better x
