We're supposed to attend a close family member's wedding in 10 days. The party/banquet is for 400 guests, indoors. The venue hasn't indicated any problems since yesterday's Plan B announcement. The bride and groom don't seem concerned and are continuing with their wedding preparations. We have to make arrangements for travel and accommodation to attend the wedding.

Will the wedding get cancelled? I don't want to fork out £££ if it all gets cancelled.

If it goes through parliament the ‘rules’ from next Wednesday is that large events 500+ Is that everyone needs a vaccine passport so unless things change you should be ok - staff numbers will need to be accounted for too.
Although this can change.

Although personally I do think that’s a crazy large amount of people for a wedding and don’t think I’d take the risk just before Christmas.

Presuming you are in England that is!

The wedding is in 10 days and you haven't done this already?

It wont be cancelled. I would however be concerned about being pinged by an omricon case and then having to isolate for ten days meaning you'll be stuck at home alone for Xmas and new year!!!

Vaccine passports or lateral flow so it should be ok for the wedding. Although the guests will need to test.

The wedding won’t be cancelled. The new rules are WFH, masks & vaccine passports. Nothing else.

Enjoy the wedding, possibly be prepared that it could affect Christmas if you were unlucky with omicron. But you would be unlucky. People on here act like covid is at every indoor event & you’ll def have your plans ruined if you attend but it’s simply not true. I’ve been to the theatre, several gigs, many a crowded bar & a couple of 100+ people weddings since August. I didn’t catch covid from any of them. I did catch it from a kids birthday party with 30 people there. It’s complete chance where you might get it indoors. Could be a massive event, could be from a cafe.

This is not the case anymore. It’s being replaced with daily testing
