Plan B and third trimester pregnancy

So the new rules are to wfh "if you can". What if you can't (teacher) but are in the third trimester of pregnancy? Does anyone know if 28+ weekers are again being made to wfh? I can't find any pregnancy specific guidance but know it was a rule last year. Fwiw I'm double jabbed.

I don’t think there is any sort of “shielding” advice as we now have the vaccines. Unless you expect pregnant women to work from home/ be paid to stay off work every winter as the situation is never going to be any different, covid is here to stay. Would love to know what you think will change this situation next winter given our high vaccine uptake and high levels of prior infection. I was pregnant last year and wouldn’t have dreamt of not going into work.

I’m not a teacher but a TA. I have been WFH from 30 weeks because I was really worried about cases in school. My union backed me up with this. Initially my request to WFH was denied as I can’t exactly do my job from home, so I asked to be medically suspended on paid leave. They then came back to me and said that I could WFH and would be doing admin tasks instead. My line manager was very much in my corner which helped. What do your union advise? My sister is a teacher and has also been WFH from 28 weeks - there is a member of staff in the classroom to supervise while she teaches them remotely. We’re both 34 weeks by the way.

I have told me HOD that I plan to request to WFH at 28 weeks. I am meeting the head tomorrow. HR were not that useful, sent me links to current gov guidance and my risk assessment did not even mention COVID!

I am 23 weeks tomorrow so it will be from Mid January. I plan to be signed off though if it is refused!
