Booking a vaccine for children 12 to 15 - can I book in advance?

DS turns 12 cose to Christmas and I'd like to get him vaccinated as soon as possible, however all walk in centres seem to do 16 + only and I can't book him in advance through the usual website.

It seems a bit crazy to be honest. Likelihood is he'll be back at school and probably getting Omicron before we've had a chance to book him in (plus immune building time). When I booked me and DH it was a 3 week wait.

Various family health concerns hence the eagerness to try to keep one step ahead. Neither immunisation team for schools nor GP can say for sure whether 12 to 15s can book in advance though answer seems likely to be no they are guessing.

This is the message I get:

You are not currently eligible to book through this service.

According to your vaccination records, you have been allocated a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine not currently available through this service.

Contact your GP surgery for advice on how to book your vaccination appointment.
