Should lateral flow test results be trusted? You can only get a pcr if you have symptoms or test positive in a lft right?

LFT positives are very unlikely to be wrong - 96% are true. However negatives cannot be trusted.

Yu can get a PCR if symptoms, if LFT positive, if you’re a close contact, and if you’re in any scientific trials including the Zoë app asking you to get tested.

Why?

If you want a pcr simply tick the contact box and then the found out anther way box. Nobody is checking.

My LFT was negative, PCR positive. So they can be wrong.

If you think you need a PCR, then book one, either ticking that you're a contact or have symptoms. They don't check.

LFT's didn't work for my family. DS tested negative twice and then was positive on a PCR. Also mostly asymptomatic.

No don't trust them completely.

I know of numerous negative lfts that have been positive pcrs this week.
