Thank you for doing a coronavirus (COVID-19) antibody test.

Antibodies were found in your blood sample.

This means it's likely you've had COVID-19 in the last 6 months, or had the vaccine.

This result does not guarantee you are fully immune (protected) from COVID-19. It's still possible to get the virus again or spread it, although your risk is reduced if you've had the vaccine or already been infected.

It's important to keep following COVID-19 advice.

If you took this test because you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks, it's unlikely the antibodies detected are from your recent infection. They're more likely to be from a previous infection or the vaccination.

DO YOU THINK THIS IS FROM MY VACCINE OR HAVE I HAD COVID?

Thanks 😊

Either. It tells you that right there. Unless I'm missing something.

This is your answer.

You can get a test that specifically looks for antibodies from infection but the test you had wasn't that kind.

Buy a panodyne rapid antibody test it will tell you if you have antibodies from a recent infection (not vaccination) only £15 and you do it at home with results in ten mins

I have done one and tested positive for IgG and iGm antibodies so looks like I have had covid in last month. Not had any symptoms but have had contact with someone. I had negative PCR and negative lateral flows over the last month

chalkyc2 · 08/12/2021 06:03

I am v tempted to get one of these for DS - he's 10 so unvaccinated and I'm on constant alert atm! Everyone else in the house has either had covid or vacc or both. He constantly has negative LF and a couple of neg PCRs when had symptoms - I don't know how he is avoiding it!

Dumpypumpy · 08/12/2021 06:48

@chalkyc2 same here with my kids but I don’t think they will let me use the lancet on them! It’s a tiny drop of blood that’s needed .
