Negative PCR then new symptom - test again?

Quick question- DS1 developed a persistent cough on Sunday morning and we got him tested, with a negative result received yesterday morning. He's now had a temperature overnight (and is still coughing). Do we need to get him tested again? I'm fairly sure the temperature is part of whatever virus is causing his cough but I'm not 100% clear what we need to do 'officially'. Have done an LFT - currently negative 10 minutes in 🤞

I think officially you don’t but I definitely would. Are there cases in his school that you know of?

BootCampSucker · 07/12/2021 07:14

Yes, plenty of cases at school. He's had Covid previously but it seems like that doesn't count for much anyway.

A lot of people ive read about have had simular and a positive test a few days later. Especially children for some reason can take longer to show positive. Although, you dont have to i would retest

Well LFT is very definitely negative so I guess that's something.

My daughter had a temperature and tested at weekend, now developed a cough so had another test today. It’s never ending!
