Hi understand no one can answer this just a tad anxious suffer from ptsd and anxiety , my partner and I had taken lateral flow today negative for both I took another tonight again negative but sent away pcr postal at 2pm today due to his cough I also have slight cough nothing like his …. He is a smoker smokes maybe 30 a day mid 20s I am non smoker but due to him being on annual leave at moment I have been around him more while smoker unsure if this is contributing to my cough plus change of weather … he has no other Covid symptoms nor do I … I am meant to have my heart mri tomorrow Im unsure if I can still go will need to go first thing hence why taken two lateral flows myself I know my cardiology wanted it done urgent I am scared that if we do have Covid that his heavy smoking is not on his side and my weight among my other issues which doctor said the only concern would be my weight (15 stone ) I am trying to actively lose more weight and be more healthy but medications don’t help with the weight increase no excuses but apart from these I am healthy , does anyone know rough postal and pcr wait times and positive stories I have really bad anxiety ( we are both 1 dose next dose alongside flu was due next week ) taken me so long due to my anxiety , please be kind sorry for any typos very nervous I understand they are coughs and colds and so on just with his cough sounding so bad but unsure if it is just a bad mix of heavy smoker and change of weather … just you automatic think of covid .

Stay safe everyone xxx

You can't go for a hospital procedure if you have a cough! They'll almost certainly all you if you have any shootings so are you going to lie? Did you mean you've done and sent off your covid home test, or have sent off for one and are waiting for it to arrive?

Bumblebee2930 · 07/12/2021 08:10

Coughs are rife at the minute. Most are not covid. Me and dc have had a cough that is not covid (pcr negative). Dp has caught covid and he doesn't have a cough, in fact he doesn't really have any of the main three symptoms.

Absolutely @Bumblebee2930 But until she has the results of the PCR, she's not going to know, and unless she lies in the absence of said results, the hospital might refuse to see her anyway.

@bumblebee2930

Coughs are rife at the minute but so is covid. No way of know which it is without test results. If she goes into hospital and gives the staff covid which they pass on to other vunerable heart patients that is not good. Im sure the hospital would rather a call and explain in morning than deal with an outbreak in the department.

Sorry but I haven’t lied to anyone certainly nor would I lie to a hospital hence me saying in my post that I would phone the hospital in the morning ? I had two negative lateral flows and we are awaiting a pcr result I done a pcr as a extra caution due to the symptoms regardless and I phoned this morning to reschedule as DP cough has worsened the hospital actually said because my LF was negative I could still come in and I was the one to decline & say I didn’t feel comfortable coming in and putting others at possible risk it’s dp cough being so bad that led to testing I just have a small cough but still was wanting to be extra cautious as we are weekly with LFTS anyway won’t be going anywhere until results are back , I would never put anyone at risk hence the extra caution and rescheduled , im in and out with my health at moment and if anything I’m over cautious and do LF every morning before I attend hospital only reason this time we done the PCR also on top was to be extra cautious and the obvious cough , will just need to wait on results now. I was in hospital on Friday past for a lumbar puncture and I said do I need to do a pcr before being admitted to day medicine and they said no and it was me that insisted I would do an LF on the morning off like I do with every appointment that’s just to point out that the hospitals clearly aren’t recommending testing for all procedures prior but I had done so for my own safety and others obviously had no symptoms then , fingers crossed it’s a cough/cold .

It doesn’t every medical building have signs up (and many have silted asking people entering too) if you have any of the three main symptoms?

If you say yes, you’re not allowed entry, or that is what I assume.
