Hi so my DS 5 has tested positive on a lateral flow test today. I tested him Friday he was fine but this morning positive, I've tested my other two they are negative and so are me and DH.
However I'm shit scared about catching it I'm unvaccinated because I just thought I'd get the jab whenever now I'm worried I've left it to late, I do suffer with bad anxiety sometimes.
My DS seems ok has gone to the toilet about 6 times today and is sleepy and hot but I've been giving him calpol what else can I do?.
I've also ordered all of us pcr tests. Really worried!

Are you clinically vulnerable? Even before we had the vaccine, as the government said, it's a mild illness for most people.

I'm not but my daughter is. I know it can be a mild illness but I'm aware it isn't for some people without them having underlying issues.

You probably don’t need to be worried - a) it’s by no means certain you’ll catch it and b) if you do, you’ll probably only get cold or flu type symptoms.

But if you want to try and reduce even the tiny risk of problems, would your DH be able to look after your DS while you isolate away from them in one room?

But also, book your first jab, this is a wake up call isn’t it? Probably best not to go to a vax centre now with the possibility of carrying covid there, but book it for a couple of weeks’ time.

Hope you are all OK.

I know so so many people who've had it recently and all been mild. Most are mild so try try not to worry too much. Remember that most people wouldn't even know they had it, have no symptoms and only know they have it by testing .
But perhaps now is the time to reconsider getting your vaccines because this thing is everywhere at the minute

I will defo book the vaccine and it's been a wake up call. The kids school is so bad with it atm I only tested him because the school said every one needs a lateral flow test by Sunday night, otherwise he'd be at school spreading it around Shock
