If you receive a notification from nhs app to say you've been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid, do you need to take a PCR test if you have a negative lateral flow and you've been fully vaccinated with no symptoms?

It’s only advised not compulsory, so Nope.

Thanks @Clarkey86. If I do request a PCR test I assume I don't need to isolate until o get the results? Is that correct?

I had the same email - I rang 119 to double check and they said if you have been double jabbed there is no need to self isolate / have a PCR
They said it was a bit confusing getting an email like that!

if you are double jabbed you don't beed to isolate. It is advised that you get a pcr but you don't have to isolate while you wait for the results.

You're supposed to but it's not compulsory.

I'm a close contact most days at the moment so I don't do a PCR every time. I'd be having to go for one while still waiting for the results of the last one!

You don't have to but I would use common sense. If you can reduce unessential contact with others I would. It's important to remember it can take 5 days or so for symptoms to come out. Early lateral flows won't always show positive.
