Hello! I tested positive for Covid on Wednesday after my son tested positive on the Monday (he got from school)
Interested to know the pattern of symptoms everyone else has faced?
First few days I felt fine then I got cold symptoms, then loss of taste and smell and now a slight cough and heavy chest! Only had a temp for one night and that has since subsided.
Interesting me, my 8 year old and husband are positive but my nearly 2 year old has remained negative!
Would like to hear others symptoms and how long it took to get taste and smell back x

Hi, my husband and I also tested positive on Wednesday. I started off with a very mild sore throat, then on Friday night was up a long time with diarrhoea. Horrible. Following that, yesterday tummy fine, but sore skin and joints. Have woken this morning with a heavy cold. Hoping things start to settle after this!

Myself and my son tested positive on Wednesday, I felt like I had sinus pain on Wednesday during the day took an lft at lunch time immediately positive so all 5 of us went for PCR Wednesday night.

Only myself and my son were positive he has no symptoms at all, I co sleep with my daughter who is negative, you literally couldn't make it up!

Anyway I just felt like a head cold Wednesday, Thursday same but with no smell or taste, Friday throat feeling a bit dodgy and generally feeling off, yesterday pretty much the same but last night I was sick as a dog and the nausea has continued today, meanwhile everyone else in the house is symptom free.

Oh and my eczema seems to have kicked off which I'm guessing is from being run down, skin feels so dry and I have had really bad pain in my muscle in my top right arm so much so that I can't stretch for anything or lift anything heavy. Only started Wednesday and isn't getting any better!

Ah I really hope you start to turn a corner soon. My husband is suffering with a bad cough and feeling generally run down, he has psoriasis and that has flared up too. My 8 year old no symptoms at all, 2 year old has a cold but tested negative for Covid. It's so strange the way it works. So many symptoms plus the stress and worry of what's coming next - hope you feel better soon xxx

Fingers crossed you start to feel better soon. I know what you mean I feel like it's a heavy cold now. My sinuses were the worst the other day but that has gone now. To be honest I just want my taste back - there's no way I'm cooking a roast today to be the only one not to taste it Grin

I had it back in the first wave. My taste took around six months to come back fully, but it returned gradually so was able to enjoy stronger tasting foods before that.

I've been lucky up till now, still have my sense of smell and taste, although a blocked nose isn't helping with that 🙄 It's weird because after my 2nd shot of vaccine I had awful bowel problems. They literally lasted for weeks, so I think maybe I'm a bit susceptible in that way. I have coeliac disease so not sure if that is a factor.

Oh and my husbands first symptoms were sinus pain. He has slight cold symptoms but mainly is feeling very tired.

OrangeBlossom28 · 05/12/2021 14:33

I was poorly with it a year ago. Day 1 of symptoms I had a very bad headache and a temperature of 38.8 degrees. Day 2 the result came through that evening and I still had the temperature and headache. Day 3 fainting and vomiting, headache and temperature still. Day 5 the nausea started which I needed tablets for. By day 16 I still had a temperature of 38.8 day and night so after another call to the GP I was prescribed antibiotics. The whole time I was I'll I was having night sweats and stayed in bed. By day 18 the temperature had almost gone. I had no sense of smell but could taste still. The tiredness was beyond awful and I didn't return to work until the start of January. A year later my sense of smell isn't great.
