Countries likely to go on red list?

Obviously impossible to predict BUT where are people looking to find out which countries might go on UK red list next?

Seems like articles are looking at 2 things

(1) Number of Omicron cases
(2) Number of general covid cases

Well we are hoping to be taken OFF the red list.

It is everywhere now. What is the point of banning only certain counties?

There is a spectacularly sensational newspaper list floating round that I totally dont believe - it includes such covid hot spots as Australia and Israel.

They never got these predictions right in the summer so no point in trying to guess

Poland should be on the red list. 500 deaths from covid every day. 25 000 infections today but only 70 000 tests taken.

This. It's already widespread withing the UK with multiple new transmissions being found every day. Adding countries to red list is pointless at this stage. The only way to stop it would be original March style lockdown which I cant see happening or having compliance.
