Pre Departure Tests

Is this correct? They've just bought in Pre Departure tests? So you'd need one before travelling into the UK, as well as the 2 day PCR?

This is a lot, on top of many countries wanting tests taken before arrival also. It adds up the trips by a lot.

Yes, back to how it was in the summer

Yep.

You need a negative pre-departure test (LFT acceptable) plus the day 2 PCR and you still have to isolate until you get the result of your day 2 test

Yes.

DH is abroad for work flying home Tuesday. Has now got to sort all the preflight tests and rearrrange day 2 as the company are getting them out early in case the country ends up on red list.

Same as the summer, easy to arrange and do, but I imagine the extra cost will make it impossible for some families to go now.
We took kits with us on some trips and bought some whilst abroad which turned out cheaper.

We landed in Gatwick this morning from Mexico. Managed to get in before the departure tests are brought in but still have to do the day 2. Lots of confusion for the people still in the resorts atm.

I didn't realise that the day 2 can be done any time after we land. I thought we had to wait until 2 days after we get back. Bit disappointed as I'll have to go to work if I'm all clear 🤣
